"I had a kitchen floor with 20 year old linoleum that had water damage on it. When the flooring was replaced after the leak, the wood subfloor beneath it was not repaired, and so it rotted away. It had become so soft I actually was able to push my finger through it at one point and make a hole through the linoleum on the floor and the wood below. I explained this to Juan who came to give me an estimate and he said it would be no problem to repair the floor. I also wanted to replace the old white linoleum with woodgrain vinyl plank flooring. He showed me some samples and we landed on one that I liked. He quoted me a very decent price for the kitchen, and later I decided to do the bathroom as well, so it would match the kitchen. The day of the installation, his crew arrived within five minutes of the time quoted. They were friendly fast and knowledgeable as they replaced the rotted wood and fixed some squeaks that were in the joists. They were careful and accurate in laying the new plank flooring in both the kitchen and the bathroom. After the job was done, I looked at it and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The job required removal of existing linoleum and carpeting, new install of latex subflooring, luxury vinyl install over three rooms all laid on a 45° angle, and new baseboards. My install was a bit problematic as it involved the approval of the Condo Board. Valley Carpet One went above and beyond by submitting specs to the Condo Board and backing up their choices with solid examples of previous work, and got me the approval I needed. They worked with my painter to make sure the baseboards were painted before install. And when there was a recurring problem with one area — caulk would absorb into the space along one mirrored wall and would not adhere — they waited until the flooring had settled and did the finishing touches to perfection. They had been recommended to me by a friend who had also recommended them to five other people, and I have since recommended them to people who have also used their services. Valley Carpet One is an incredible company, and I hope to engage them again when I do my bathroom and balcony,"

"We had many quotes and Mike Pillar was certainly not the lowest, but we'd read great things from Angies list. We couldn't be happier. From the beginning Wendy (the saleslady) was very patient with showing us everything she thought appropriate to our tastes. After many samples back and forth to our home, we were finally ready. Mike came to the house, measured everything, and took special notice of kitchen/bathroom transitions plus a weird fitting french door we had just installed. Our specific flooring was on back order so we had to wait 4 weeks for it to come in, which it did right on time.
For the install, day one was carpet removal, grinding old tar off the concrete and floor leveling. Everything was covered and a few heavy objects were moved to the garage. Days two and three were actually laying the wood. The crew answered my many questions and took special care to make the room transitions flush, as opposed to putting in those wood risers that people trip over. The areas around the french doors really look great.
A couple days later we noticed an unforeseen problem and the next day they were back and fixed it in a jiffy. No problems found since. I installed the baseboards myself so I can't comment on what type of job they do on those. Compliments keep pouring in from our friends and neighbors so we won't hesitate to recommend them in the future.

"Beau and his crew installed a new prefinished wood floor in my dining room, entry way, living room and family room. In a few short years, the floor is scratched, dented and floor boards are loose. We have contacted them more times than I can count. Most of the time there is never a call back or when an appointment is set a no show. This is not the way a business should be run. I would think twice about hiring them. I know I am in the minority, but truth is truth. UPDATE: Beau contacted us and his crew came out promptly completing all necessary repairs."
