"Tech was able to tell me what the error code meant but did not want me to order part until testing with volt meter. Diag appointment with volt meter did not cost extra. Tech gave me part numbers and it fixed the problem."

"Sergio turned up a little late but he's a friendly and pleasant guy so I wasn't too bothered about that. He looked at the toilet and said that unfortunately it wasn't a 'standard' gasket, that he didn't have one and that it wouldn't be covered under that $49 tune up. I had pretty much expected this and so I guess you could say I wasn't disappointed. But I was rather shocked at the quoted price of $175. Now I get it, plumbers have to make a living and they do warranty their work but this felt a bit like a bait and switch. Why offer a $49 tune up and then charge a huge amount for a $7 part that it took him less than 5 minutes to install? Now I know what the part is and how fast an expert installed it, I've looked it up on YouTube, seen how easy it is and will of course do it myself in future! I had waited to have the toilet done for quite a while, anticipating that some other, larger and more difficult job would arise. As it turned out, Sergio tested the water pressure in the house and it was right at the maximum permitted amount as he showed me. So he offered me a deal whereby I would not have to pay to have the toilet fixed but would pay $670 to have a new regulator installed. Having checked the internet to see that in fact 80psi is the max safe pressure in a house, I decided to go ahead and have him do that job and save myself potential issues down the line with plumbing breaking inside the house to possibly disastrous effect. Sergio is a capable guy, he's friendly and seems to have done a good job. I just wish that they didn't have this $49 'deal' going which I suspect is most likely hardly ever honoured as advertised. I've said I would not hire them again but would have preferred to say 'not sure' because the job was done well and quickly, despite a long wait while he sought out parts at local suppliers, which maybe balances out my feeling of being misled."

"Excellent service! I liked them! The technician took time to listen to me, and was able to diagnose the problem. He had to get a part, came back, and fixed the problem. He also did an extra thing for me by snaking my sink!"

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Asbestos testing is conducted by collecting samples from materials suspected to contain asbestos and analyzing them in laboratories for confirmed presence.

Epoxying over asbestos tiles is generally considered a safe option when done correctly. Epoxy acts as a sealant, encapsulating the asbestos tiles and preventing the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.

Yes. Gutting a house to the studs may actually be a good option if you believe a home contains toxic materials like asbestos, mold, or lead paint. However, this must be done under the supervision of licensed remediation experts.

Because of the danger of inhaling asbestos fibers, figuring out through testing whether your popcorn ceiling contains asbestos is definitely worth it. If the popcorn ceiling texture has asbestos, remove it as soon as possible to keep your family safe. Any home built in or before the 1980s that has popcorn ceilings could have asbestos, necessitating testing. Asbestos carries several health risks for people who inhale it, including the increased chance of developing lung cancer in the future.

Vermiculite insulation that comes from a particular mine before 1990 is likely to contain asbestos. This is particularly true in the U.S. However, not all types of vermiculite insulation contain asbestos. Since you can't detect the presence of asbestos without special equipment, it's best to assume that the insulation contains the dangerous mineral and to either leave it alone or hire a professional to handle it.
