Customers say: True professional

"I highly recommend Glen for any stucco repair work. He was professional, reliable, and took pride in the quality of his craftsmanship. The repair blended seamlessly with the existing stucco, and the finished result looks excellent. He arrived on time, communicated clearly throughout the project, and left the work area clean when he was finished. It’s hard to find someone who delivers this level of quality and attention to detail. I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Glen again or recommend him to anyone needing stucco repairs."

"I was in the remodeling industry for over 40 years, and can be pretty picky! Bill did a superb job on both the inside and outside of my home, would hire him again in a minute! They worked fast & clean, and never asked for extras, which is a cheap trick dishonest contractors use to get more money. So glad I found them, and would recommend them to anyone, already have."

"My experience with Building in Harmony was overall a 10/10 as you know construction is not comfortable but they went out of their way to make it the most comfortable it can be. I got my driveway and backyard re done as well as re-doing the stucco on my house which was on my wish list for a long time. I was very hesitant about it but when Dana came out the first time I knew they where the one. They are very detailed and meticulous when it comes down to the finished product. We had walk through on the regular basis and every time I had a question someone was there to answer. They followed through with their completion date and finished earlier than i could have ever anticipated which is something that’s very hard to do with construction from what I have heard.Overall I’m super happy with the work and experience with them I can’t wait to start my next project with them! Thank you Building in Harmony Team and Dana for everything my family and I appreciate it so much."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Failing to repair damaged stucco can lead to significant problems. Cracks can grow and deepen, allowing water and moisture to get behind the stucco. This moisture intrusion can cause water damage, structural issues, and mold or mildew growth. Delaying repairs will likely cost more in the long run as the damage worsens, so it's best to repair your stucco as soon as you notice any signs of damage, such as cracks, holes, or discoloration.

Stucco repair can best be described as a patch. It involves identifying the problem and fixing that specific damage with additional stucco. If no mold infiltration or an underlying leak is causing the damage, repair is most likely all you need.

Remediation, on the other hand, involves removing the existing siding, fixing the underlying cause of the damage, and then reapplying stucco siding for that wall. It’s a more permanent fix that takes longer to complete and, hence, comes with a steeper price tag than repair.

When cleaning stucco siding, it is recommended to use a pressure washer with a psi (pounds per square inch) between 1,500 and 2,000. This range provides sufficient power to remove dirt and grime without causing damage to the stucco surface. It's important to avoid using excessive psi as it can chip or crack the stucco.

Using a wider spray nozzle and keeping a safe distance of about seven to 10 feet from the siding helps ensure a gentle and effective cleaning process. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines and adjust the psi accordingly based on the condition of your stucco and the specific requirements of your pressure washer.

When hiring for your project, look for licensed, insured contractors with experience in stucco removal. Ask them for references, review their past stucco removal projects, and request detailed, written estimates. A reputable stucco removal contractor will explain the entire process, outline all costs, and ensure proper disposal and compliance with local codes.

Cracks in the chimney can be very serious, depending on their location and size. Even small cracks can become serious over time if left unrepaired. Cracks allow heat and moisture to deteriorate your chimney and harmful carbon monoxide gas to seep into your home. Small cracks can often be caulked, while large cracked sections may require full replacement.
