"My special needs cat got stuck in a 30 ft tree for 2 days, and a search said we should call an arborist to get him. The first couldn't do it but recommended these guys. And they were great. Fast, professional, and friendly, if a little confused at first about what we were asking for. Since this was an oddball request for them. Even this review was hard as, there isn't any service for " helped save our cat". We really can't thank them enough."

"I cannot recommend them highly enough!

When possible I like to use a small or family owned business. I had called another company for those reasons.  The 'technician' arrived and gave me a bid of $1000 to screen openings in the eaves and fireplaces and would 'throw' the spray in.  Red flags.  I attempted to contact the office and speak with the owner.  All I can say is I felt this business had lost its better employees.  And started to search Angie's List.

I found Bee Catcher's through Angie's List.  They arrived quickly in the start of summer swarm season.  Confirmed that I had scouts but recommended a spraying to deter the scouts. Yes, screening would be beneficial but not essential.  They were polite, attired in Bee Catcher attire, gave a bid which I accepted and completed the work in just under an hour.

I have not had any additional bees, and I did have the eaves screened by a contractor for $350.00.

I felt hustled and priced by my neighborhood not the job.  I have told my arborist  (The Tree Men, Inc.) of this company and they are using them now.

This is who I will call in the future.  Bee Catchers provided quick efficient reasonable service with service, a smile and style.  It doesn't get better than that!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Yes, tree roots can regenerate after they’re pruned or cut. In fact, trimming can stimulate new growth, especially in healthy trees. The tree’s roots can still grow back even after a tree is cut down, (and learning how to get rid of regrowing tree roots is a separate feat). Still, if you don’t wish to harm a tree, pruning the roots should be done with extreme care, and ideally by a professional.

Pruning can impact cold hardiness—but it’s less about the exact temperature and more about temperature variation. Generally, you don’t want to prune trees when there’s a risk of temperatures suddenly dropping from 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 0 degrees Fahrenheit or below. A tree is most sensitive until 48 hours after it’s pruned.

Transporting a fully-grown tree requires heavy equipment, typically specialized for the task. A tree spade is a truck-mounted tool that removes the tree from the ground in one location, transports it, and places it in a new hole in a new location. A combination of mechanized shovels and lifts is necessary to move very large trees, and the exact tools often depend on location and the surrounding area.

It’s not always easy to tell when a tree is dying, although signs like dropping branches and brittle bark can sometimes offer clues. It can also be difficult to know whether a tree is dead or dormant, especially if it’s a deciduous tree. You’ll want to wait until a growth season to get a good idea of a tree’s health. When in doubt, contact an arborist for a consultation.

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.
