Envirotek Restoration, Inc. is an industry leader in providing environmentally safe wood restoration and preservation. Our experts clean and sand tired-looking wood to revive its natural grain and color. We use the Total Wood Protection® product which penetrates the wood and protects it from the elements. The products we use allow the wood to breathe and retain its natural moisture, which prevents excessive drying and cracking. Painters and contractors who do deck work often do not use the same caliber cleaning and preservation methods. Only professionals like Envirotek Restoration, Inc. can give you results that will stand against the elements. Don't settle for less! Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges.

"We used Envirotek annually to clean and refinish the deck when my wife owned a rental townhouse. I was pleased to see Envirotek pop up when searching for a contractor to power wash my house. Sammy's workers were very thorough and the paint looked like new when they finished."

"The quality of Mike's work was decent. The price was fair. My advice: if you use Mike be sure to HOLD BACK PAYMENT until all work is complete. Details: resurfacing project for kitchen cabinets, total project ~$10k. Mike resurfaced as well as converted a few cabinets to a better configuration for our needs. He reinforced a few shelves too. I was and continue to be happy with the work. However, there were three things that were never completed, and I wish I had held back payment. He never returned to complete the work, despite following up for months. 1) hinge hardware for several doors is of the wrong type and interferes with use of the cabinets. the fix is to replace the hinges on about 6 of the cabinets. 2) holes were put in the wall to provide room for the wrong hinges. these holes were filled in a completely unprofessional way. when you open the cabinets it is glaring and looks terrible. this is the cabinet where we store plates for dinner, so I am reminded every night. the fix is to fill, sand, and paint these holes AND replace the hinges. 3) he drilled a hole for a door pull in the wrong location. He filled the hole but it's obvious and in a highly visible location. the fix is to replace the door. mike said he ordered but never came by to replace. 4) for a large pantry door, it is clearly visible that screws to mount the door were too long and are pushing out from under the finished surface, again a highly visible location. the fix is to replace the door. mike said he ordered but never came by to replace."

interior painting: To do interior painting the right way takes skilled and careful people, top quality materials and great colors. In short, high quality interior painting is a job for a professional. Before you get estimates you should give careful thought to the project and the expectations you have for the results. Here are some questions you need to consider: Questions to Ask Yourself What the goal is for the painting project? Is it decorative or just a quick clean up? Are you painting to live in the house or are you painting to sell it? The goal you have will guide you to answering the other questions. What areas will be painted? Are the ceilings to be painted, or just the walls? What about closet or cabinet interiors? Will the windows, doors and other trim be painted? What is the condition of the current work? Will cosmetic repairs such as caulking and patching be needed? How perfect do you want the repairs to be? What is on the walls now? If it's wood paneling, the walls must be primed. If it's wallpaper, usually it's best to remove it, wash the walls and prime them before repainting. What quality of paint do you want to use? There can be a big difference in grades of paint. Is there a brand of paint you prefer to use? Do you prefer oil base or latex paint for the trim? Not all painters can or will use oil base paint. Is there oil base or latex paint on the trim now? (Remember that oil base paint can usually be applied over existing latex paint, but the reverse isn't true in most cases unless the surface is primed.) What sheen of paint do you want for the trim? What sheen do you want for the ceiling and walls? Are there practical considerations for choosing the type and sheen of paint, such as the need for it to be washable? Will there be a color change? If so, priming and two finish coats may be needed. Do you want to use different colors on the ceiling and walls? Do you need help choosing colors? What are your expectations for removing door handles, knobs, hinges, light fixtures, switch plates and plug plates before painting? Are your rooms crowded with furniture and accessories? Will you want help removing things and preparing the room for painting? Will you want help putting things back? What are your standards for clean up, both daily and at the end of the job? Will you want a supply of paint for touch-ups? What is your timetable for doing the work? Painting that is well done protects your home, adds to its value and greatly increases the enjoyment of living there. No holidays or missed areas, no drips, runs or sags in the finished work. No obvious brush or roller marks. Thorough cleaning at the end of the project. Written specifications of the materials that were used in each room, including any special color formulas. Appropriately labeled touch up paint(s). Labor usually represents 75-80% of the total cost, and with quality painting you're paying for the time needed to do the work correctly and professionally. 1-5 employees. Complete interior & Exterior Painting-Home Improvement,All Phases.

"I had the worst experience with this company’s customer service. When I called to make a complaint on the service the technician provided I spoke to a representative that was very rude and when I asked to be transferred to a manager the manager yelled at me, talked over me, did not let me explain the reason I wanted to talk to her. When I told her she had bad customer service and that she needed to work on her listening skills, and I was going to put a bad review, she got even more mad at me. Never did she let me explain the reason why I was upset at the technician. Didn’t give me the time to speak without her constantly interrupting me. Her name is Diana. She told me she was going to send a report to my furniture insurance that they don’t want to do business with me, why because I complaint? Because she was upset at me? I have never dealt with a company like this before. I wished she could of at least lied that she cared for my feedback."

"We love our 'new' house, thanks to T. Paul Sek Ecopainting! Before, it looked gloomy and uneven in its hues. Now, the walls look far lighter across the changing light of day, making the house more livable and attractive. Debbie's color consultation gave us very helpful advice on what colors to choose. We settled on a shade we hadn't initially considered. We also greatly appreciated the care taken by the workers to protect our furniture and move everything back into order. The finish was highly professional and very precise, with no discernible edge bleeds. We also expected to return to a house full of fumes but because they use low VOC paints, we were pleasantly surprised by very little detectable offgassing. They communicated in a timely fashion, coordinated key pick up, and overall helped us feel like we were in excellent hands. We strongly recommend T. Paul Sek Ecopainting."

Furniture Refinishing questions, answered by experts

Yes, many custom builders offer finishing and upholstery options tailored to your style.

The best way to help a family member or friend declutter their home is to hire a professional organizer or cleaner to do it for them. However, you can also help them make a plan to tackle the clutter. Sit down with them and sort through the items, making piles of what to keep, toss, and donate. Focus on one area at a time to avoid overwhelming them. If they have trouble letting go of some items, ask them when they last used each item, what its purpose is, and whether it has sentimental value. The answers to these questions can help you advise them on handling clutter.

You can certainly seal butcher block countertops, but not permanently. Due to the nature of the materials, it will require resurfacing down the line. This is true no matter what you use to seal the countertop, including polyurethane and mineral oil. Polyurethane will last until the countertop is damaged in some way, and mineral oil should be reapplied every two to three months. To maximize the longevity of the polyurethane sealer, apply two coats.

No, you don't have to apply polyurethane to butcher block countertops. Polyurethane sealant is a long-lasting finish for a butcher block counter, but its application also requires thoroughly sanding the surface multiple times. Other materials, such as mineral oil, require less work but must be applied more frequently.

To treat sun-damaged furniture, clean the surface thoroughly to remove dirt and debris. Next, assess the damage: Consider refinishing or applying a protective sealant for faded finishes. Apply furniture oil or conditioner to restore moisture to cracked or dry wood. Remember, the best way to treat your furniture is to prevent damage in the first place. Regular maintenance and preventive measures will keep your furniture looking its best. Lastly, it may be best to consult a professional furniture restorer or refinisher for expert repairs and restoration in severe cases.
