"I had a mixed experience with Douglas. The curtain rods were not hung straight. No tools were used such as a stud finder or measurement tool. The wall-affixed garden hose was drilled in the wrong place and a second hole needed to be made into the side of my home. Caulking was used to fill the hole but damage was done. I recommend getting an in-person estimate from Douglas for your repairs. Fee $400 covered book shelf reinforcement, hang 4 curtain rods, hang 3 large frames, affix 2 retractable garden hoses to sides of home."

"We hired Sylvain and Marquis Assoc. To build a separate and detached Granny Flat on our property. He and his team built a 1200 sq. ft fully functioning 3 bedroom 2 full baths HOME. From start to finish Sylvain was personally involved and extremely professional. He and his team were on the job site on time everyday early to dusk. They worked hard and fast. Every night the job site was left clean. As soon as the city approved the plans, we were building the next day. It was incredible how efficient the guys were in building, total build time was less than 3 months. Craftsmanship was top-notch, and we feel we truly built a great house. He was focused on making sure we chose all of our counters/ cabinets/ doors/ windows/ molding/ everything that we wanted and stayed on budget. All done, Sylvain did not go over budget. His estimates were right on to what final costs came out to be. He kept us updated constantly regarding budget and where we stood in the process. We had changes along the way, and he treated all problems with calmness and found solutions to all issues. He is well seasoned and we trusted him completely. Our house is incredible, we are so happy. I also feel I need to mention how much our neighbors love the new house. They walked by during their daily walks every day during construction. Now they are stopping us outside and ringing our door for Sylvain s contact info now that he is finished with the project. We even have cars slowing down in front of the house to take a good look. "I posted prior review at time he began- He is more than likely better for small projects, not large scale. He started off wonderful, although this was not a small project, he committed to work he claimed experience and then had difficulty. At first he showed daily, worked hard until about 65% completed and he had been paid 2/3 of job- then he committed to coming, no show. I would contact claimed personal errands came up then committed another time no show. This occurred 3 days in row. There were other days he was frequently on phone, stating calls other jobs. Unreliability is an issue for me. This task dragging on too long. He claims distracted other tasks helping me, this is true and do take into consideration, although his lack of experience in a task made it take longer than should have taken. My husband was a contractor ( he passed ) so I am not unfamiliar with Const tasks I am not being unreasonable. He is more than likely great on small job- day or two- handling a larger project he begins to become unreliable. He has many skills, this job should been nothing for him- although he overcommits and lets personal issues affect concentration."
