"Great experience getting windows installed by American Home Renewal. First contact was 6 months ago. I slept on it for a few months and got some other quotes. Chris was friendly as a sales man, Gave me a competitive price and some pointers on fiberglass vs vinyl. I went with Vinyl. Alex was the installer and was very detailed in explaining the install process. He explained everything in detail to me and showed me tips on how to do a proper install. We did a mix of new construction and retrofit. we added window casings and he was very thorough and asked multiple questions on how I wanted the casings to look. only hiccup was one of the windows was ordered wrong. we couldn't determine where the mixup occurred but they immediately took full ownership and reordered me a new window to the specs I wanted. I would highly recommend."

The team was on time each day and ensured that the days task list was completed before leaving for the day. They ensured the work areas were organized and cleaned after each day. They were professional, easy to work with and their pricing was competitive. Would highly recommend them for any general construction or handyman projects you have."

They have not yet contacted me regarding the work to be done. As I am preparing to go on a vacation and will not return until the middle of next week, I'm in no hurry. If I haven't heard from them by the end of next week (May 29), I will contact them the following week.

I had paid the $1,000 advance by Visa through Angie's List, since Best Exteriors only accepts Pay Pal. Angie's sent them a check, but Best Exteriors said they didn't know what it was for, so it took two months to get an agreement signed. It seems to me that they could have called Angie's to ask what it was for. If I received a check for that much and didn't know why, I'd be on the phone right away to find out. I paid it in March. The job was done in July.

The crew of two men showed up on time and did a great job installing the windows. The problems started after the windows were in. The re-installed my two window air conditioners, but left large gaps around them where wind and water could get in.

 They fixed one of them before they left, but I had to call the office to get the other one done. It was fixed a week later, but then Alex called me and said it was not part of their job to put the A/C back in, and the customer should make the arrangements for that. Well, alright, but he didn't tell me that when he came out to make the arrangements for the work to be done. It would have been a deal breaker for me, as I am elderly and not strong enough to do that. He said they had "gone above and beyond" by putting the A/C back in for me, but I don't think it's too much to expect them to put things back as they were when they started the job. Certainly they should have told me if it wasn't part of the agreement.

"Counters look good, however, there was a HUGE mess. Tons of old counter top in every one my drawers and in all of the cabinets. Basically no clean up, no attempt to. In addition, they got glue in the window track and the window couldn't open. I called multiple times to have this fixed weeks apart. I did get an apology for them forgetting to come out after the first call. However, a huge mess was made getting the glue off the window seal and not cleaned up even a little bit. Rude...acted like we were inconveniencing them. Never apologized. The counters look great but customer service definitely left a sour taste."

"Mr. Rick Pellhum, the General Manager, of "Northwest" Home Improvements, expertise, insight, and patient, courteous, professionalism and return inspection - with reviews and suggestions - were extensive and very helpful and useful in getting the non-tempered glass windows replaced and negotiating the same with the regrettable contractor we had used instead of Northwest.. Rick goes the extra mile in demonstrations of products and explanations of how things work and should be done. He takes his time and fully and objectively ticks all the boxes and covers all the bases. Once he has discussed a project proposal with you - you have been educated and really have a grasp of all the details. He fully engages you in sharing his knowledge and years of experience and the confidence that he has in his company's products, ethics, capabilities and workmanship. In hindsight now I can honestly say we should have gone with Northwest and I regret not having done so. Rick demonstrated the difference between the windows/product we ended up with, and the ones Northwest had proposed installing for us, by going out to his vehicle and bringing in an infrared lamp that when plugged in and held up to the window panes we have - versus the ones we could have had if we had contracted with Northwest Exteriors - clearly indicated an inferior product was installed by the party we went with. Rick was kind enough to outline remedial steps for me towards resolving the issues we were facing with the competitor we had gone with instead of Northwest. He gave me very sound advice. I highly recommend Rick and Northwest. In all of my dealings with him/them over the last year and to date they have always been responsible, punctual, professional, courteous and very thorough and reliable.
