"They are very thoughtful and thorough and get the job done leaving my yard neat and tidy. My fruit trees were having a bug problem and they took care of it. They fertilized all the trees and my trees are ready to begin fruiting for the summer. I would recommend Arce Tree Service to anyone needing prompt reliable tree service. Patricia J"

Customers say: True professional

"Jose came by the day before my Mexican palm tree was to be removed to give a quote. He presented himself well dressed, spoke intelligently, and gave a quote $200 less than a quote I got earlier so I decided to use Arce services. Later day I received a professional invoice through email and the day before the work was to be completed, I received an automated reminder of the work to be done. He arrived the next day with a crew of 5, multiple trucks, and a wood chipper. They ‘hit the ground running’ with Jose climbing the tree with a chainsaw/ropes, and completed the work within 2 hours. All of his team were quick with a smile and worked diligently. I would use their services again in the future, and most definitely well recommend them to others!!"

"C & H Gardens Artistic Landscape & Tree Service did a fantastic job in my backyard. They worked within my budget. My planting beds were cleaned out, weed barrier installed and new succulents planted. They worked with me on design and planting. They also re-installed stairs to allow access into my canyon lot. Finally they installed a retaining wall to support my mature sycamore tree that is on a slope and also terraced above the tree on the slope. The workmen were efficient and friendly. I would definitely recommend this business for your landscaping needs.1"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Whether you should remove the roots of a dead tree depends on whether they’re damaging nearby areas. For instance, if the roots continue to grow near sidewalks, driveways, or the foundation of your home, they can cause damage. If you want to plant something else in that spot, removing the roots can make it easier for the new tree or plant to grow.

Yes, it can be good to remove dead branches from trees. Dead branches can lead to rot in other areas of the tree. They can also cause damage if they fall on a house, shed, fence, car, pool, or other structure or property. However, it’s important that dead branch removal is done safely. If the branch is high in a tree or requires a lift or ladder to access, consider calling a professional tree removal company, as they will have the experience and equipment to do the job safely.

If executed correctly your tree should survive after being transplanted to a new spot. However, effective transplanting requires six months, careful root pruning, safe transport to the new location, and replanting in prime soil conditions. You’ll also need an appropriately sized root ball for a complete tree transplant. A good rule of thumb is that, for every inch in diameter, your tree’s root ball needs to be around 11 inches. So a tree with a diameter of six inches needs a root ball of approximately 66 inches.

The ideal time to prune a tree depends on the type of tree. Typically, late winter or early spring is a good time to prune but isn't always the case for "towering trees." It's best to trim when trees are dormant and before blooms appear but can vary depending on the tree type. It's always best to research the type of tree or ask a professional tree trimmer to determine when is the perfect time to prune your tree.

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.
