Customers say: True professional

"We decided to remodel our outdated bathroom, and McCormick Home Builders was a fantastic choice. Khaled and the team delivered high-quality work within the timeline and our budget. Every detail, from the tile work to the lighting, was beautifully done. They communicated well throughout, keeping us informed at every step, and the end result was truly a spa-like bathroom we can enjoy daily. We’d love to work with them again!"

"Noe came to our house the day I initiated my search. He completed the job in fewer days than projected! He removed old concrete, installed pavers and cleaned up afterwards - it looks great, plus his bid was lower than others’."

Small jobs welcome

"Their technician did an excellent inspection job: he crawled under the house, took photos, and did a very precise measurement of the house level. However, Saber doesn't replace steel girders under what are called "Princess homes". They can do jack replacement and leveling, but first I need a rusted steel girder replaced, for which I must hire a different foundation contractor."

"Nucave Construction remodeled my house and it looks great. They did roofing, flooring, interior and exterior paint, windows, wood repair/replacememt, lighting, cabinets and lots of handyman type of things for me. The crew always showed up on time and worked hard all day. Everyone speaks fluent English and are very cordial and professional. Ryan, the owner is very knowledgeable and has quite the eye for design. A custom closet with drawers was built in a room that had none and you would never know it wasn't originally built with the house. Based on Nucave's professionalism, attention to detail and fair pricing I would highly recommend them for your home project."

"I had a terrific experience with Foundations On The Level. Peter provided terrific insight and took the time to fully explain the issue with my foundation. Peter took care of everything, including setting up the engineer and getting the necessary permits with the city. Although my foundation issue was not a big job, Peter always took the time to properly communicate and made sure my repairs were done properly. The project started and ended on time, which is a big plus. Foundations On The Level is a great and unique contractor because they are professional, communicative, and are not looking to take advantage of you."

"At this stage we only had a screening and they need to come back in 6 months to see if things are actually moving. The foundation specialist was very smart, comunicative, giving meaningful advises and explanations. He took great care of doing a thorough set of measurements of the house."

"I canâ t recommended Petra enough. As a first time home owner, dealing with renovations for the first time is stressful. Petra made it a smooth, transparent and even a fun process. Everything from design, ideation, cost considerations to execution was professionally and personally managed. The workers themselves were very polite and professional and also left everything clean â like newâ when they left. Overall our bathroom remodel was successful and I will definitely hire them again."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

The timeframe is generally a few hours, allowing for immediate use post-hydration, ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding activities.
