"First of all check Tim Armitage's license, which we did after the fact There is some question as to his current status. We had a complete upgrade done to the exterior of our house. We were pleased with the overall outcome until we went to fill the pool and found out that during the demolition of the old concrete, the fill pipe for the pool had gotten damaged by the skip loaders they were using. This pipe was right below the surface and should of been checked before they poured the new concrete, especially since they had broken another pipe in the same area and at the same depth. Needless to say we did not find out about it until after all the new concrete had been poured, when 10 weeks after the completion of the job, a crack appeared and water started seeping out. (we do have photos of the skip loader right over where this pipe is located), and this pipe had never leaked before the start of construction. When we approached Tim, the general contractor, he was unapologetic and tried to blame it on everything other then his own lack of oversight. This brings me to the communication aspect of this project. Most of Tim's communication is done by text and photos. We basically only saw him when he wanted a check. There were many times when we felt that we were the project managers for the job, like the time that our streets water was being turned off, which I had informed Tim of exact time and date prior, and who shows up to work, but one of the concrete guys, and don't they need water? Or the time when the roofer showed up and they had not completed the painting in that area. Thankfully we were home at the time, otherwise there would of been a situation. We never even got the courtesy of a final walk around to make sure everything was OK. All through the job Tim got texts and photos from his subcontractors upon completion of their portion of the project and Tim relied on these sources without an on sight look see. On this note, at the completion of the project we got a text asking if everything was good, and that was the extent of the walk through."

Minimized dust and protected home & furniture. * Very good communications with RW every step along the way. * Sean, Project Mgr made himself available & always responded quickly. He informed us of every delivery & each sub-contractor's visit on a daily basis. * Sean timely addressed every request or concern that we ever brought-up. Two subcontractors were required to do some follow-up. Sean ensured that the re-work was completed correctly & timely. * The one and only item discussed during the final walk-thru was completed within a couple days. * RW hit every timeline with the exception of a final day delivery of a broken glass shower door and mirrow, which was promptly re-ordered, delivered and installed within one week. * We were always assured that RW would be at our home at the time & day communicated to us by Sean. * John, an excellent RW lead worker, adhered to high quality standards & often offered on-site suggestions for better aesthetic & functional use of the bathroom. * RW workers were always courteous & cleaned-up after each work day. * Project was completed financially as expected. No surprises. Overeall, a GREAT PROJECT"

"Bait and switch. I obtained multiple quotes for my foundation. Dalinghaus Construction quoted me 19 piers to stabilize my home. I questioned why their competitors were quoting me over 30 piers; and they reassured me I was being over quoted by their competitors. Long story short, I went with Dalinghaus. During construction, a rep (David F) came by to drop off some tools and found that 19 piers would not be enough. They said I needed 14 more piers (totaling 33– same as their competitors). I’m stuck because I cannot leave my home half stabilized. No other reputable company would complete the job if another company started it. I was obligated to move forward with Dalinghaus. No one called to apologize for the misstep. They invoiced me and could care less how much this would affect my family. They proceeded to install14 more piers but left 14 large holes— they said backfilling was not part of the scope of work, while the original 19 were backfilled. Insanely strange why they think I wanted 14 large holes at my home. So this is where they gave me a “discount.” They backfilled the holes for free. Free? It should be included in the work. All in all, why do I have to pay for a mistake of this magnitude? I’ve tried to work it out with them peacefully but they have not provided me anything that would make this right. Only excuses why they should not compensate me. They have no integrity. They only care about their reputation at this point (they want my bbb review taken down). I would like to be compensated for the 14 additional piers that were missed from the original quote. 14 additional piers is a completely new job, not a “new work order.” They are the professional and should have done a more thorough assessment to provide me an accurate quote. Their competitors seemed to have done so but I was sadly duped by Dalinghaus. They baited me in and switched the price after the work started. $38k is a lot to lose. I have 2 small children and a home that needs to be completed. Ps. I’ve been waiting over 2 months for a resolution."

They have been SO easy to work with—and when you’re opening a second spa location in San Diego, easy is everything. Gabe moved fast (he’ll be done by Monday—EEK!), and for business owners, time is money, so having a contractor who’s in and out efficiently is HUGE. During the project, he discovered some mold in the building. To give you an idea of how fast he worked: our space includes five treatment rooms, two storage rooms, a kitchen, an office, and a lobby. He redesigned and completed the whole buildout in just over a month. He’s also a great communicator—sending us frequent updates, photos, and videos of the progress, which gave us so much peace of mind since we couldn’t always be on-site. His pricing is incredibly fair and, in our opinion, makes him unmatched in this industry. His work is impeccable, and it doesn’t break the bank. We truly could not recommend Gabe and his team more!"
