"Nick and Dominic worked on my toilet. We were in between Landlords, and my toilet had been non-functional for almost eight months. Our new Landlords hired Steve Beaton Plumbing and they made an appointment to come right away. They were both very curious, efficient, and did an amazing job! I am a bit OCD and was worried about having someone come to work on the toilet - Nick and Dominic were very discreet, clean, and sanitized afterward... they even offered to wear booties to come into my home on their own accord. In the end, I was overjoyed with their service and even got a new toilet out of it! Thank you!"

"Showed up on time and openly discussed original reason for the call. I mentioned that my drains had gotten plugged up over the weekend and they took care of it right away. Very professional and courteous. Left everything nice and tidy. I will certainly be calling them as the needs arise."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Vinegar is better for an AC drain line because it’s less corrosive and won’t damage the pipes. It’s also a safer and easier product to use. Bleach should not be used on your AC drain line because it can corrode your pipes and harm the evaporator coil in your air conditioner.

Yes—your local septic company can clean your septic leach lines with a sewer jetter, a device that pumps high-pressure water through the lines to blast out any clogs and scum buildup. Unless there’s a clog or blockage in the lines, however, you do not need to perform this maintenance regularly. Do not attempt to clean your own leach lines, as you could easily damage them, leading to very costly repairs.

If methods like hot water or a plunger don’t work on your clogged drain, you can snake your drain to dislodge the plug. This can be a messy process, taking some physical effort and additional time over the other drain-clearing options. You can purchase a drain snake at a hardware store and choose from handheld options or those attached to a drill. Just work slowly, and be ready to call a plumber if you’re unable to reach the clog from your drain or P-trap.

Yes, you can use vinegar to unclog a dishwasher. To do so, combine 4 tablespoons of white vinegar with 4 tablespoons of baking soda and pour the mixture down your dishwasher’s drain. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then pour a cup of hot water down the drain to flush everything out. Finally, run a rinse cycle on your dishwasher to see if the clog is gone.

For disposal clogs with standing water, use a sink plunger and place it over the garbage disposal drain. Push the sink plunger up and down the drain about six to eight times before lifting. If the sink drains, the clogged food particles are dislodged from the drain. If there’s still standing water, repeat the steps until the standing water clears out.
