"They had a cancellation and showed up three days early. Nick came and stayed at my house well after six to complete my bathroom and kitchen issues. He even hooked my son's up with how to fix the hole he had to put in the bedroom to get to the pipes. Went above and beyond what most companies I've dealt with in the past. They are my go to from here on out"

"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"Excellent service for a virtual format. Would definitely recommend this very affordable alternative to the traditional technician having to come to your home to evaluate and fix a malfunctioning appliance."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

A bathtub diverter is used when you have a shower-tub combination. The diverter valve allows you to send the water to either your tub faucet or your showerhead. Diverter shower valves cost between $20 and $200. Higher-end brands, such as Moen, might cost more—some models are over $250.

Left unattended, a leaking toilet will eventually cause water damage or mold growth. If you’re a homeowner, you can file an insurance claim for water damage. However, that can be a long and tedious process; sometimes, your insurance company may not cover the damage. Therefore, it’s always best to fix any leak you notice right away if you can.

Yes. There are a variety of standard pipe sizes used in plumbing. The main supply line connecting your home to the street is either 3/4 or 1 inch in diameter. Supply lines are 3/4 inch in diameter. Individual components are 1/2 inch in diameter. Meanwhile, your main drainpipe is often 4 inches wide. Most shower and bathtub drains are 2 inches in diameter, most toilet drains are 3 inches in diameter, and most sink drainpipes are 1 1/4 or 1 ½ inches in diameter.

Although air in your water lines won’t affect the overall quality of your water, it will lead to problems with your well water system if not addressed. Over time, too much air in your water lines can create blockages in your pipes, cause insufficient water flow to your taps and appliances, loosen pipes, and potentially damage important components of your well including your well pump and pressure tank.

You can start the process to set up utilities before closing on a new current property, but most companies won’t turn on electricity or gas until after the closing date. You’ll also need proof of ownership to get things going. The best way to do this is to contact the utility company as soon as possible and keep them up to date on the sale status. We recommend making contact one or two weeks before the closing date.
