"We were referred by our neighbor whose yard was performed beautifully by AGS Landscape (Alejandro Guerrero brothers). Alejandro Guerrero brothers are really amazing hard-working persons. They are very responsive and very efficient. Our front yard was completed in fewer than five days and was done so appealing. We are totally satisfied with their project and are now admiring our good-looking yard many times in a day. Highly recommend to others!!!"

"P&J does fantastic work. I am more than pleased. Joe is an arborist and has keen knowledge of trees, when and how they should be pruned and groomed or even removed. P&J removed three trees and many shrubs, pruning and shaping many other trees. Stump grinding was done to the removed trees. His crew of seven and himself showed up on time at 8am and they were done at 1130am. Amazing! They are licensed, bonded and insured."

Customers say: Quick response

"The owners, Ken and Emily, responded immediately to my request for a meeting, walkthrough, and estimate - in fact I think they showed up the day I called or the next day when they were in the area. They were friendly and listened to my needs. They made some good recommendations for moving some plants around, watering, fertilizing, etc. Within a week we agreed on a reasonable price for services and shortly thereafter they snapped our plants and lawn into initial tip-top shape and planted a new vegetable and herb garden. They will tend to all of our landscaping needs on a bi-weekly basis going forward. I like that the owners of the company are the ones taking care of our yard - it adds a great level of personalization and consistency to their services. To date they are doing excellent work and are very knowledgeable about taking care of all things green."

"I find them very sincere hard working. They did the work very delightfully. The large tree branches that fallen during the storm last Tuesday they cleaned out in their truck to dump. I would without any hesitation recommend them."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Since summer is a busy time for tree companies, the cheapest time of year to remove a tree is during the winter. February and March are typically the prime time to hire a tree removal pro, and some homeowners living in colder climates can save around 20% off services. It depends on location and the company, but you can always shop around for the best deal.

Your neighbor is not in a good position to know if your trees are truly dead or pose any kind of danger. That’s why hiring an arborist or tree service expert can be such an important part of the process. If the trees are still alive and don’t pose any threat, you’re in the clear (but you may want to document and photograph everything in case events turn sour down the road).

But if a tree is visibly dead and near the property line, you should remove it to be safe. If a dead tree falls on a neighbor’s property, they may have grounds to sue for negligence. If any branches on trees have died, it’s a good idea to cut them back for similar reasons.

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.

A general rule is that trees need 10 gallons of water for each inch of the tree’s diameter. For large trees, that can amount to approximately 160 gallons of water or more. Watering big trees to this extent can take quite a bit of time using a hose. For this reason, you may consider installing a soaker hose or sprinkler system to make the job easier.

Cutting down a dead tree is always strongly advisable. Aside from being an eyesore, a dead tree can be extremely hazardous, especially when it’s near people or structures. Even if the tree isn’t near your home, it can still harbor pests and diseases that can potentially spread to nearby plants and homes.
