"On time. Worked very hard until job was completed same day! Professional, polite, prompt dedicated crew who knows what they are doing. Complete team effort. If I could, I would rate them a 10!. Excellent job! No standing around, when they left, they cleaned up ALL debris, didn't even leave a leaf! The huge overgrown oak tree looks like an artist painting. They took pains not to drop branches on our house or porch. They were safety orientated from the beginning. Our 80 ft pine fell over with that last snow and wind, blocking our yard and drive. When they left, it was if that 25yr old pine tree never was there!! Amazing work. I don't do these surveys, but had to take exception. Innovative did a wonderful job, and I want to thank them. Incase you are wondering, this is the first time I used them, but won't hesitate to call them if we need their type of service. We'll worth the money spent, which was middle of all estimates I checked into. We live all the way near Keene. Appreciate the fine job they did for us. Innovative, You rock!!!"

"The team at AB Tree Service did an amazing job at my home. They carefully trimmed each tree, removed one that was now considered dangerous, and then proceeded to treat my trees with nutrients and for disease and pests. The trees have never looked better. Oh, they even went into neighbors yards (with permission) to clean up any branches that landed there. My place was spotless when they left."

"The provider showed up on time as promised. After about 40 minutes the service guy was wrapping up and had to ask him to redo some sections that were clearly not clean. Also missed stairs completely. They did finish it up and final job was fine. Had some trouble communicating with service guy as his English was limited. Wasn't terrible but wouldn't use again.

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You’ll want to have your palm trees trimmed during the spring, ideally in May, before hurricane season sets in, which generally takes place during the late summer. Palm trees grow fastest over the summer months. You’ll also want to trim your palm trees when you notice:

  • Brown fronds

  • Dry leaves

  • Flower pods

  • Fruit

  • Fronds overgrown in power lines

  • Frond encroaching upon your neighbor’s home or yard

  • Visible damage from a storm

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.

In most cases, you should not use a pruning seal on trees after trimming. Applying a sealant can interfere with the tree's natural healing process, and it does not guarantee protection from pathogens. Instead of sealing the cut, the best practice is to support the tree's natural recovery by providing it with plenty of water and a dormant-style fertilizer. However, there are exceptions. Pruning seals may be recommended for very vulnerable species, like elm trees, in areas where dangerous diseases such as Dutch elm disease are prevalent. In these specific situations, the protection offered by a sealant can outweigh its downsides. For advice tailored to your situation, especially after cutting large branches, it is best to consult a local tree trimming professional.

Leaving the tree stump and letting it rot is never a good idea, as this leads to insect infestations and other frustrations. Additionally, decomposing trunks are at risk for diseases that spread out to the remaining plants and trees in the yard, thus ruining your whole outdoor aesthetic. It's usually best to remove the stump at the same time you remove the tree.

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.
