"I had thought I purchase two hours of electrical service only to be informed that the actual work scope was essentially limited to changing light bulbs, fixtures on an existing circuit, or trouble shooting an existing problem....things that I can handle for the most part on my own. Even if I had all the materials to add a fixture onto an existing circuit, that was not considered part of the contracted scope. I also had been trying to arrange for someone to be home during period of time that service could be performed, and finally arranged for someone for an entire week (starting Monday 3/20) to permit the work to occur. "My landlord hired EM Electric. I requested a motion light be installed on my patio. Where I enter was super dark. Erik came out and took a look, told me his plan for the best location (turned out perfect), also recommended a garage light sensor to add for small additional charge, I guess was easy to install as he had to do most the work for the patio (drilling hole from garage outlet) so thought to offer this addition. Extra awesome since my complex we don't have automatic openers and I had to fish for the overhead light in the dark. He was clean, courteous, and professional (even moved my stuff in the garage to do the job, then put back after he was done)!

"I had used Nexxus previously for a large-scale remodel of my house and they did an excellent job so when I needed some help with touch-ups and repair of some things that my four big dogs had damaged I called them again.   This time I needed the large french doors in the back of my house to be repaired because my dogs had scratched them to death and damaged the moldings.  Also, there were numerous places where the walls were marked or stained by the dogs and the floors were a mess. 
I also had some beautiful new lighting fixtures that I needed to be installed.  The owner, Tony, answers all the calls himself which is reassuring -- it is good to know that you are speaking with the person who is going to take ultimate responsibility.
First the electricians came over and it turned out that the electrical boxes where the lighting fixtures were going were too big.  So the electricians took out the boxes and replaced them with smaller ones.  Then the finish carpenter came to work on the doors.  He did a really great gob installing new metal moldings (astragal?) between the french doors in my kitchen and family room so they look even better than they did before and now the dogs can't eat them.  After that, the painters came and repaired with drywall the places where the electricians had had to break the walls to install the new electrical boxes.  They went around the house touching up everything that needed it -- I didn't even have to tell them where to look!  Finally, the floor guys came to buff down the areas where the dogs had scratched the floors and applied new sealer.
All of the workers are professional, punctual and polite -- easy to have around.  I am so impressed with the quality of their work and their attention to detail.  Also, they were meticulous about cleaning up every day after the work was done.  And they were very patient and kind with my dogs as well!
I know that I could probably hire a less expensive company, but I have had the experience of getting a low quote and being so disappointed with the result, when you get a lower quote, what are you really getting?  You don't know if they will use quality materials or take the time and care necessary to do a quality job.   It is so worth it to know that the work is done to high standards and that the company stands behind everything they do.  I think you get what you pay for and ultimately I think I spend less because I am maintaining the value of my house.
