Rather than just replacing the one broken valve he replaced all antiquted valves and replaced sprinkler heads. He was done by 9:30 am and everything was tested and worked. I had him change one of the sprinkler heads because I didn't want the water hitting my car. Immediately done. He also mentioned other work that he felt I should do but I didn't opt to do it
- System PaversIn 2017, we had System Pavers of Union City replace most all our hardscape around our home with new pavers and artificial turf. They also installed an extensive drip irrigation system and landscape lighting throughout our property. Drainage systems were installed as well. It was a enormous project involving numerous crews specializing in different aspects of the installation. In fact, we even requested that they place a basketball key, free throw and 3-point line in our driveway, all in pavers, and it came out superbly. The property now looks gorgeous, we’ve received many compliments from anyone who has visited, and have even seen walkers who pass by taking pictures of our property. Cesar Guzman was the project manager throughout this massive project, and I have nothing but the highest compliments to give to him. He is a very good listener, communicates any questions or concerns we have to his crew, and is meticulous in his follow up to ensure all is done to our satisfaction. He is a great coordinator yet, has demonstrated an exemplary work ethic by performing follow up labor himself when needed, if anything is not as it should be. If there are any issues that arise, he brainstorms and follows up with suggestions and options to create solutions to solve them. This month, we had them complete the rest of the hardscape work around our 3-car garage, including the installation of channel drains that five downspouts flow into. Of course, we asked for Cesar again, and was elated to hear that he would once again be the project manager for this job. Kudos to System Pavers of Union City, and especially to Cesar Guzman

When we came back from doing some shopping we noticed that he and his helper had mover the bird bath for us. He went the extra mile.

"Jose was very prompt in responding to my emails / texts. Everyday when he comes to work, he will text me that he started work. He communicated well in English and his work has been very good. We relaid the entire backyard (1000sq ft) with new grass after digging up existing old grass, tilling the soil, rolling up evenly, adding more new soil, rolling up again followed by laying new grass. He also helped fix the sprinklers that were broken. He took care of a patch in the front yard. He removed unwanted plants in the front yard near the door and replaced them with nice rose bushes. The cost was very nominal and he did a satisfactory job for us. He accommodated a lot of smaller things that I had in mind too.. I have actually hired him for ongoing maintenance of the lawn.
We have a fairly small crew in order to oversee all projects in process. Sub-contracting usually isn't necessary. We ask for a $1,000 deposit and then the payments are broken up into equal payments distributed throughout the project.

"Carlos arrived within an hour of my posting, quoted a fair price, and we agreed to the following Tuesday, between 8:00am, and 9:00am. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate them. Tuesday arrives, and when no one was here at 9:30am, I called Carlos. When I asked when they were coming, he said between 1:00pm and 2:00pm. I pointed out that we had agreed on 8-9am, which he acknowledged, and apologized. A simple phone call would have not only been good business sense, but common courtesy. The gentleman who came (at 1:30pm) were efficient, and courteous. They did an excellent job, and left no mess. Had they arrived at our agreed upon time, OR had the courtesy to call me and let me know that there were scheduling problems, I would have given them an A rating.
