Quality Gardening & Landscaping

Just started using them a couple of months ago. So far so good. They are much more attentive to the yard than prior gardeners. Price is higher than I'm used to paying, but we'll see how it goes as we enter the spring months and things need more pruning and shaping.

It has taken a number of very specific lists over a couple months to finally get all the things that need to be kept up to date taken care of and there were some mistakes along the way, but they have been fairly responsive and accommodating to correct.

Quality Gardening & Landscaping did a great job. From quote to completion they were on time and responsive to my concerns and questions. The crew was courteous and efficient, followed through on (very minor) repairs/adjustment of the irrigation system and cleaned up nicely. They let me know promptly when there were going to be delays (rain delayed the previous job so mine was backed up a bit). I chose a somewhat unusual retaining wall style, a little more complex than most, and I also wanted a graceful curve in it. Of the five quotes i got to install the retaining wall, I felt Quality Gardening & Landscaping was only one of two landscaping contractors who were qualified to install it properly. They were patient in explaining the structural requirements of the kind of wall I wanted and knew exactly how to handle the curve I asked for and manage the slope of the yard. Also the suggestions I got about how/where to lay out my flagstone path were much better looking and functional than my original plan. I was impressed.

He came out on time showed him everything that i needed pruning of fruit trees. Listened to what I requested. They cleaned my yard like I requested but when they pruned the trees they didn't prun the trees the way I requested each time I asked them to prune back some more I was just given excuses. In the front it looked like they barely touched the bushes. When I asked if they did the bushes they said yes that they did but on inspection it didn't look like they were touched . I wasn't aware that they were even touched until I asked them if they had trimmed the bushes. The price was very expensive considering the size of my yard and the lack of pruning that was involved. On top of that the method of payment (cashiers check etc) are old and out dated they gave me no options for CC use

I think they were high. Punctuality was right on.

Sort of OK, but they didn't always know what they were doing. In the process, they cut through landscape lighting disabling it and also messed up the drip lines. But after complaining about these, they sent someone to repair them.

We hired QGL to implement a design we had done by a professional designer. Anything that was unlike other jobs he had done, he was reluctant to take on, and was extremely rude and condescending to me in almost all interactions. We would agree on a course of action, and then his guys would proceed to do things that were similar but not right (for example we had agreed that we would have a chance to review plant placement before putting things in the ground, and I came home to a fully planted yard without any review, at which point he blamed me for not being home). His crew are very nice and professional, I just highly warn others in taking this company on unless you really like the other yards they have done and you want exactly the same thing replicated in yours.

They were able to diagnose and fix all the problems. They were also able to upgrade all the bulbs to LED for significant energy savings.

Chris Reece of Quality Gardening & Landscaping put together a design within our price constraints that by any means well exceeded expectations. Jose and crew resolved every question and catered to any changes requested. Everyone in the work crew was patient, extremely diligent and very respectful to us and our property. We could have not found anyone better to complete our landscaping project. The schedule Chris setup was meet to the minute. The team worked exceptionally hard and always asked our opinion when sections were done. Any objections we had were resolved without hesitation or complaints. We would highly recommend Quality Gardening & Landscaping to anyone that wants a dramatic improvement to the outside appearance of their house.

Everything went well only issue we had was because of the heavy rain and saturation of the ground part of the trench couldn't be properly compacted. When I reached out to Chris he sent someone out to take care of the issue.

Eddie immediately provided feedback on the design and possible choices for the yard. We mixed and matched the choices and came up with the final design. The outcome was exactly what we were looking for. We did a few upgrades and add-ons that made sense. We had a couple of issues that were promptly corrected. QGL was able to work around the rain and got the patio completed despite record rainfall. I am including a before and after photos.

I have used Quality Gardening & Landscaping for my weekly landscaping maintenance for about 7 years, and I couldn't be happier! They do everything--mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, sprinkler adjustment, and more. If I have any special concern, they always take care of it. The crew is very professional and courteous. They do extra repairs--sprinkler repair, lighting, etc. for a reasonable extra charge.

They were very good and I'm thinking of getting them to do more work for me.

The work exceeded our expectations. The entire project was completed in 4 days and looks amazing. Eddie, the supervisor and contact person, was extremely professional and responsive. When we called or emailed him, he responded right away. His crew were polite and professional as well. We couldn't be more pleased.

1. Why did we choose QGL? First, we had a neighbor of our parents who is very "fastidious" and who raved about work QGL did for him. Second, we asked Eddie to come out and begin talking about a project and included a request for help locating an irrigation leak. I envisioned two days and holes everywhere! Juan accompanied Eddie and immediately (5 minutes) located the leak and had the broken line repaired in 30 minutes. We were really impressed. 2. How did the project go? First, QGL was 3 month out in work already promised. SO we developed a scope of work and 2 months later had the contract finalized with cost. This month the work was completed and we are amazed at how QGL's landscape plan transformed the property, front and back. People keep stopping us and make comments about the work. The plants are the finest quality (some in bloom after 1 week!!), concrete and stone work beautifully done, irrigation is perfection especially the commercial drip systems in the front and the new state of the art controller. The new lighting was the icing on the cake. Cleanup was done every day, employees were very respectful and responsive... a joy to be around. I was there every day watching everything looking for short cuts - especially those which can be "covered over" and left. Absolutely no shortcuts. And whenever I called or emailed, I got a very timely response. 3. Meeting Jeremy tomorrow about a maintenance agreement. 4. We still have two phases to go over the next 2 years: hardscape and another softscape. You do not have to guess who we want to do the work!!!

Three inexperienced guys with a couple free Saturdays can't build an 800 sq ft patio and a 25 foot retaining wall. Well, not a very good one anyway. I was a third of the way through the project and realized it wasn't really the way I wanted to spend my free time, so I called QGL to come out and finish it up for me.
I was a bit skeptical when Eddie from QGL let me know that my skills in landscaping weren't all that great. (He did it in a very polite and professional way, but I didn't quite believe him). Until his guys came and tore out all the work I had done and replaced it with a significantly improved version. Ok, it wasn't really an improved version. The only thing that even remotely resembled my version was the size and the location. His looks better. And it is obvious from looking at it and standing on it that it will last way longer.
QGL is great, easy to work with, punctual, and put in a fantastic patio/retaining wall. Eddie provided installation and design ideas which really improved the look. I appreciated that he had a long-term perspective - he made suggestions about how to complete this project based on the overall plans for the backyard. The whole thing came out even better than hoped for.
Absolutely will use him again, in fact have him coming out for bids on other projects already.
