We're huge fans of Soil and Green.  Couldn't be easier to work with.  We set them up on a regular schedule, the come when they say, communicate when they can't, do the work they're supposed to with high quality, and clean up.  Billing is easy and the price is right.
We also love them because they are willing to do coaching as well, for their usual hourly rate.  Advice on sprinkler systems, what to plant, landscaping, etc.  Also they gave us a fantastic referral for stump removal to a guy who was just wonderful.
Can't say enough good things about them.

Vivian came out before the job to give me an estimate. I showed Vivian the site and all the plants that needed to be repotted or planted into the ground.
I was told this would take her half a day for the job at $40 per hour. Seemed reasonable at a total cost of $160.
When Vivian showed up she had her husband with her.
Long story short, at the end of the job which took 3 hours the cost should have been $120 but Vivan told me her cost would be $240!
I was taken aback but unfortunately I was a bit confused so I paid her the $240.  I immediately went back to check my emails to find her original quote of $160 ($40 per hour x 4 hrs) and e mailed Vivian June 6th.
Vivians response was to email me about how she is part of a gardening Guild, how she needed two people for the job, which is all fine but the bottom line is that she came out  before the start of the job and physically looked at the job site and the plants I wanted potted or repotted and quoted me a price for the job which was $160. If she at the last minute decided she needed help then she should have told me BEFORE the job started that her fee would be ~$90 more than her original quote. I would have gone with someone else.
In Vivians June 6th email to me she did say she would try to work something out with me since I needed additional work done in August but honestly I think I'm going to just have to take a loss on this one as I just don't want to deal with this feeling of being dupped anymore.
I'm most disappointed in that I hired Vivian to support a fellow female only to end up feeling ripped off in the end. Its unfortunate, but lesson learned always always confirm the cost BEFORE someone starts a job for you. Get it in writing if you can.
Pro's:
1) The job site was left clean enough and the trees she planted into the ground look good.
2) She knows her soil and knows what you need to amend your soil with.
3) Pleasant demeanor.
4) She showed up on time for both the initial estimate and on the day the job was performed as well.
Con's:
1) Cost was way over what was quoted.
2) I had to pick up ALL 10 of the heavy soil bags from American soil myself and had to move them all into the backyard myself.
I had to do this again because I could not get a response from her on if she would be doing this.
3) Non responsive, you will need to be the one following up with her.
4) Seemed like a bait and switch.

The tech from Soil & Green has come out once and did three hours really good work. She will be coming back to finish the weeding and winter cleanup. We will also put some plants in for color. I really liked her energy. We met beforehand to see if we would like each other. She is pretty down-to-earth and friendly. I have a gardener for the bigger work, so I needed somebody to do the things I used to do but cannot at the moment after my surgery. She is a very hard worker and gets a lot accomplished in the town. She is very honest and forthright.

The job that they did was excellent. They are very professional, very friendly and very neat. They showed up on time. I think the price was good. I would use them again in the future; in fact, that was the second time I used them.

It turned out great.  I would definitely recommend them to other people.  They are not weed hacking gardeners.  They are old school.  They pull out the weeds by hand.  It takes a bit more time than just hacking everything away, but the end result is better.

I was really happy with their work.  They weeded by hand and they just didn’t walk through the yard with the weed whacker.  They really paid attention to details.  I would absolutely use their services again in the future.

Vivian was easy to work with, and helpful in assisting me to select plants that would suit my tastes and needs (low maintenance, quick growing, attractive yet simple). She was knowledgeable, friendly, prompt and thoughtful. She will return to mulch the side bed, and I look forward to working with her.

The project was discussed and the date set. I was consulted about details and my ideas were actually taken seriously. Vivian and her partner (apologies for not remembering names!) arrived as promised and finished the job beautifully. No weeds - and it has been more than two months since completion

This was actually the second time I'd hired them and I've been meaning to have them back soon. They (they're a couple) arrived when they said they would. They're friendly and efficient. They listen carefully and work carefully. They're also quite knowledgeable about plants (the lady especially) which helps them to avoid damaging the good stuff. They did a lot of work in pulling ivy and cutting back a juniper that was encroaching on the driveway. They don't like to use RoundUp so apply it yourself if you need that. (Sorry to be so late submitting this report; meant to do it months ago.)

Vivian is very easy to work with. She communicates both what her plan is before hand and what she was able to accomplish after the fact. I really like their system of charging by the hour and getting as much done as they can in that hour. For us, it was a much better way to go than paying a huge upfront fee to get the yard in shape, on top of the monthly fee other services wanted to charge. This way our yard will get into shape, albeit at a much slower pace, but also for a much cheaper price. Definitely not the cheapest price around, but a very good value.
