"Anna and Heather did a fantastic job removing wallpaper that had been repaired twice, so there was a lot of extra adhesive to deal with. They worked quickly and efficiently, left the room completely clean, and were friendly and patient with all my questions through the process. I will definitely use them again."

"We decided to hire Diaz Painting after meeting with Rene for the estimate. He was prompt and courteous, and took the time to thoroughly review the job and discuss the details. I also liked that his definition of “two coats of paint” matched mine, in that he paints once and lets it dry before painting again, unlike my previous painter. I also liked that Rene works the job with his crew, which gave me confidence the job would be done correctly. Diaz Painting was prompt, courteous, and friendly. They went around the house and prepped the job by hand, repairing problem areas to ensure a good paint job. My previous painter's crew just pressure washed the eaves and started painting. After painting my house eaves with two coats of paint, they went back around the entire house and meticulously touched up the job by hand, and thoroughly cleaned up before leaving. The job was completed on time and for the agreed cost. They even painted some trim on the house we hadn’t discussed at no additional cost. Diaz Painting is a great company and I highly recommend them."

"I had Jesus come back to do some more work for us, as he has proved himself to be reliable, helpful and does excellent work.  He always has a good team working with him, they're clean, tidy  and honest workers and get the job done well.

The walls and cabinetry all look wonderful, in fact everything  Jesus and his team has done in our home has always looked good!

They are very pleasant to work with, and  I have no hesitation in recommending them."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Yes, but professional services ensure secure installation, accurate leveling, and protection against wall damage, especially for heavy or valuable items.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

When installing new steel doors, it’s smart to do other projects simultaneously. This can lower costs, limit mess, and help your home look and function better. For example, replacing a damaged doorframe is wise when planning door installations.

Also consider changing broken or worn-out locks, repairing or replacing weather stripping, and updating handles. Painting, staining, or upgrading the trim around the door can also improve energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics.

To determine how many rolls of peel-and-stick wallpaper you need, measure the square footage of the walls you’re covering and divide that by the square footage that each roll covers. Add 10% to 20% of your total square footage to account for pattern matching or damage while installing.
