"John and his crew did a fantastic bathroom remodel for us. One thing we valued highly was communication. We always knew what was happening and when it would happen. John honored all of his commitments to us even though the project grew as we went along. They were excellent at cleaning up at the end of each work day and leaving things in usable condition for us over night. John listened to our concerns and desires and helped us through the entire process. The work was done well and professionally and it looks beautiful. Even our neighbors were impressed with them. We are delighted with TileBaths and would hire them again any day!"

"First of all, this guy is a certificated ARBORIST! He knows trees!  This was very important to me.  I didn't want "some guy with a chainsaw" to tell me the trees had to come down.
After looking over the trees and their location, he told me that the trees would continue their secondary growth and that growth would push up the pavers in the yard, and even if the pavers were reinstalled the secondary growth would push them up again over time.  He gave me some options to consider.
He is based out of central Orange County and because of distance, he declined to do work in Bellflower which was disappointing.

"While they were up there cleaning the gutters they told me about the deterioration of all the sealants on the air vents, the chimney and exhaust fans on the roof. They took pictures and showed me and I had them redo all the sealants. I have a feeling that that was a smart way for them to get some more work (most people aren't aware of the damage the Ca sun can do). It was the owner of the company and his son that did all the work and they were clean, pleasant and professional. When the 1st rains came after the work was done I suddenly remembered a small leak we had had in our bathroom and IT WAS NO LONGER THERE!! I was very happy with the work they did and would definitely recommend using them."

"I cannot say enough great things about David Sweeney, the designer and owner of Exoticus Botanicus. Before I met David, I had gone through 3 landscape companies in 4 years, and David has now been with me for about 20 years. Last year I moved out of state and now rent my Los Angeles home, but David still maintains the landscaping because I don't trust anyone else, and we put too much into it for it not to be maintained by him. Not only does David have an amazing sense of design (I even solicited his opinion on non-garden related home improvements), but he really cares about making everything beautiful as much as I do (and I am REALLY picky), which is a rare quality. Also, it is hard to find a company that does his level of design work that also does the ongoing maintenance. Having installed the landscaping gives him an added level of personal attention. I could call him to talk about a particular plant in the garden and he would know exactly what I was talking about and have already noticed whatever point I wanted to make about it. The best testimonial to David's amazing talent is that when I used to sit on my front porch pretty much everyone who walked by said we had the most beautiful garden they had seen. People also came by to take pictures! And, David doesn't just know how to select plants. After a few years of working with him, I decided to redo my backyard, which had mostly just been lawn and planting areas with no interesting hardscape or place to sit. David did an amazing job designing the shape of the patio area and steps, selecting the flagsone, designing the most tasteful kennel/run for my dog that had to be in the backyard (we called it the Taj MaKennel) and a great fountain. He even selected the patio furniture! A few years later we completely resdesigned the front yard with a river rock wall (it is a Craftsman home), fountain, specially designed planter for our porch and lots of succulents/drought tolerant plants. Recently, we removed the front lawn and put in drought tolerant Dymondia."

"The crew arrived at 10:00 AM as promised. They scoped the area to determine the proper method for removal and without affecting the neighbors on any side. Once they were comfortable with the way to precede, they took down the old lanais and cleared away the debris. They fully cleaned and swept the area before completing the job. The estimate was what they charged and they were finished in only a couple of hours. I was quite pleased."

"If you're looking for a reliable, honest contractor that has great design sense and an incredible work ethic, look no further. This was my first remodel and I was really nervous after hearing so many contractor horror stories from others. I feel like I hit the jackpot with SGI and the team. They guided me through the whole process and the end result was exactly what I wanted in my dream kitchen and bathroom. Every day of our project I would come home to a clean workspace and progress was made on schedule. With two little kids in the house that meant everything."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Though there are a lot of factors that go into caring for a koi pond, the most important maintenance you can do is frequent water checks using a koi pond test strip that checks the water for dangerous conditions.  In addition to regular pond maintenance costs, you’ll also need to winterize your koi pond if you live in a colder area.

You have several options for your pond by getting your yard ready for the winter. You can winterize your koi pond by ensuring it’s at least 5 feet deep so it doesn’t freeze completely, installing a pond heater or aerator and having it run at all times, and installing a deicer if temperatures are dangerously low for an extended period. You can also choose to shut down your pond for the winter by removing all the wildlife in it and bringing it indoors, cleaning out the filter and pump, and then covering the pond with a tarp.

Whether a natural pool is worth it depends on several factors because they cost more than traditional pools. Many people opt for natural pools because they enjoy swimming in natural bodies of water such as lakes. Also, if you're environmentally conscious, a natural pool is going to be a much more attractive option than a traditional pool.

Moreover, for people with chemical sensitivities, a natural pool is a great solution since the water doesn’t contain chlorine.

Natural pools don’t necessarily attract snakes, although there is a chance they could stop by for a quick visit. They’re not likely to stay, however, because there’s nothing for snakes to eat in a natural pool environment. A well-maintained natural pool has clear water, so you should be able to easily spot a snake before diving in.

One of the most important parts of building a pond is digging the right depth. Your pond needs to be at least one to two feet deep. The specifics of the depth will depend on factors such as the placement of the pond and whether you plan on having fish. If you have fish in your pond, it will need to be at least two feet deep.
