"John at Tile Baths was very easy to work with and did an excellent job. He re-grouted my shower stall and laid a new floor in my master bath. He was very accommodating with regards to my schedule and the work is of excellent quality. I'm over-the-moon happy!"

"We contacted Mr. Parks via Angie's List.  His answer to our request was prompt and professional.  We set a date for the work and Mr. Parks followed up with a phone call.  He again called to verify and arrived right on time.  Their work was done quickly and professionally and our property was left clean and neat.  We highly recommend Thomas Parks Contracting.

"Rich Valdez came out to see our house, onto which we wanted to put a 400 sq ft addition. He took a copy of the plans, asked a few questions, looked around the house...and then we never heard from them again. If our job was too small, or they were too busy, that's fine, but some kind of follow-up would have been professional."

"Soto Landscaping is great! Carlos is kind, reliable, and communicative. He was always willing to help my family with our landscaping whether it was a specific project (like watering trees that are hurting from drought) or general clean-up (because we had a lot of trees that dropped a lot of leaves!). I highly recommend him and hope to work with him again."

The house was built in 1937, as you can imagine the bathroom needed a complete demolition, from the floor to the ceiling and walls.  First the old vanity and bathtub were removed so that the workers could remove the old tile on the floor and the tile in the old shower which was completely removed.  The floor was floated with concrete (the house is on a raised foundation), so that new tile could be installed.  The walls were removed down to the studs, two old windows were replaced by one modern window above the new shower. Because Neil came up with a new design for the bathroom, a new wall was built for a very large shower in the location were the old vanity was (we did not want a bathtub). New cabinets were installed for lots of storage and a vanity with marble top, oval mirrored medicine cabinet with two wall sconces on either side. We had new recessed lights in the ceiling with a fan that goes on when the lights are turned on, not on a separate switch.   Neil and the workers were very clean, leaving no mess in the living room which they had to walk through while working in the bathroom.  Because of the old windows being replaced, the outside of the house was re-stuccoed and painted to match the house.  No mess anywhere!.

In the kitchen, we decided not to have all the cabinets replaced as my father had made and installed ash cabinets around 1960; it was a sentimental choice, which Neil understood.  Neil had matching cabinets made along a wall that had none.  All tile was replaced with granite of our choice and a new stainless steel sink was installed.  The linoleum floor was replaced with tile as well as the dinning room.  Before the tile could be put down backboard was installed on top of the existing wood floor.  All tile was installed in a diagonal pattern looking from the living room, so that the dinning room looks larger and flows into the kitchen.

Fountains questions, answered by experts

You have several options for your pond by getting your yard ready for the winter. You can winterize your koi pond by ensuring it’s at least 5 feet deep so it doesn’t freeze completely, installing a pond heater or aerator and having it run at all times, and installing a deicer if temperatures are dangerously low for an extended period. You can also choose to shut down your pond for the winter by removing all the wildlife in it and bringing it indoors, cleaning out the filter and pump, and then covering the pond with a tarp.

You can use the outdoor spigot to do many things like cleaning patio furniture, washing down driveways, or watering plants. You can also attach outdoor hoses and some sprinkler systems to your spigot, making it much easier to keep your grass and plants watered. When connecting a hose or sprinkler system to your outdoor spigot, pay close attention to the manufacturer’s instructions, as they can ensure a snug fit with no leaks.

One reason you may want to fill in your pond is the cost of maintenance. Pond cleaning may cost about $1,000 for an annual cleanup, or monthly visits may cost $75 to $100 per visit. If you don’t want to spend that much per year on pond upkeep, you may consider filling in your pond.

Backyard water features can add serenity to your property, drown out neighborhood noise, and serve as a focal point to a stunning landscape design. In some cases, a properly installed and maintained water feature can add to your home’s value. Just be sure to check with your insurance company before installation since some features may affect your premiums.

Installing an outdoor water fountain costs $2,700 on average, not including the cost of the unit. Prices range from $150 to $10,650, depending on your location, the type of fountain, size, and accessibility to the site. Self-contained fountains and water features recirculate the water within the unit. Depending on size and features like multi-tiered cascading bowls, they typically cost from $50 to $5,000. More elaborate fountains with waterfalls and ponds can cost from $450 to $10,000 or more.
