"Although I didn't end up hiring Felipe, I appreciate him coming out to give an assessment and an estimate of carport repairs. The HOA used their own contractor to do the repairs. I'm actually not as confident in the HOA contractor as I would be if Felipe did the work. He sounded like a very competent Handyman and his estimate was not outrageous."

"Edwin was punctual, polite and professional. His price was very reasonable. My kitchen cabinets were chewed up by a puppy and I needed to have the damaged cabinets repaired and color matched. He came out with his brother last month to do the repair and the result exceeded my expectations. His stucco patch work was excellent as well. I have never written reviews before but this time I felt compelled to write one because he deserves it. Thank you again for the wonderful work you did"

Mailbox Repair questions, answered by experts

It is often worthwhile to refinish or restore furniture, especially for high-quality, older, antique, or sentimental pieces. Older furniture tends to have better durability than modern, mass-produced items, and refinishing can cost about one-third of the price of replacement. To determine if it's cost-effective, compare quotes from local refinishing services with the price of a new, similar piece. Refinishing can refresh a piece's look and extend its lifespan. However, it may not be worth it for newer furniture made of medium-density fiberboard (MDF) or plywood, or for items with major structural damage. A professional can help you assess the piece and decide on the best course of action.

If your couch is damaged, you are not out of options. You might try fixing it on your own, bring in a furniture repair specialist, or opt to get rid of it responsibly. Depending on its condition, you could donate, sell, recycle, or drop it off at a local scrap facility.

Lamp repair typically takes 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on the complexity of the repair and whether parts need to be ordered.

Pros cover many fixes, from upholstery renewals to joint reinforcement.

Cupping and bowing are both types of wood warping, but they affect the board in different ways. Cupping happens when the edges of a board curl upward or downward, creating a concave or convex shape across its width. Conversely, bowing is when the board curves along its length, forming a gentle arc.
