California SmartscapeMy husband and I are thrilled with our new backyard! From the beginning Andrew understood our needs and worked on a design that would give us more usable space for our family gatherings. Andrew is jus wonderful to work with! He is attentive to your needs and concerns and has an incredible vision for hardscape design and landscape. Once the design was done, they had to demolish existing cement and level our whole backyard to have more usable space. They installed pavers, lighting, gas lines for our fire pit and grill and landscape. It all came together even better than we ever imagined! The whole team was led by our project manager, Alvaro, who is a pleasure to work with. Every worker that was brought in was professional, punctual, and tidied up before they left for the day. Alvaro was always responsive and accommodating with the changes that we thought needed to be done along the way and still the project was completed on time and within the budget. We wish we could give more than 5 stars and cannot recommend this company enough! Hiring California Smartscape was the best decision we could have made and one we will enjoy for many years to come!!- David B.

Brothers LandscapeLuis's people did outstanding quality work, very easy to work with, Luis was very responsive to my requests and questions, his people cleaned up property before leaving every visit. Brothers LandscapeLuis and his team at Brothers Landscape did a great job with my landscaping project. Work performed: April-May 2021 Replaced my existing back yard drip system with micro sprayers, added new micro sprayers to my front yard and front parkway, installed landscape lighting for several trees and shrubs, delivered and planted all my new landscape plants. The project was spread out over about 4 weeks as I was waiting for a city tree permit. Luis and I would work around his availability and we were able to knock out some aspects of my project a little bit at a time. Occasionally there were some schedule miscommunications but since we weren’t on any fixed timeline I didn’t hold it against him. He was easy and flexible to work with as I dealt with city permits and plant availability issues. As the project moved along, we would discuss changes or needs as they arose. He was accommodating on all levels. I had gotten three bids and his price fell in the middle (the 3 bids ranged from 6k-7.2k). I liked his online reviews so I chose to go with him and his company. I would use him again should I need more landscape work done.- Ron C.

Timberwood LandscapeWe reached out to Timberwood after having a landscape design developed by another firm. We liked the design and designer from the other company but didn't have a great experience with the company when it came time to move forward with the plans. When the owner, Jon Bolin, met with us, he pointed out some areas of the original design that wouldn't meet our goals of low maintenance and also some aspects that were unnecessarily increasing the cost of the project. He suggested some modifications that we really liked, and we moved forward with having him update the design and submit a quote. He gave us a price break on the design updates since we had already paid the other company for a design. His price was competitive with the estimates we had from the previous company. Jon's crew completed the entire installation in 4 weeks. Roberto and Angel were at the property nearly every day during this time and we were very happy with the work they did. They worked hard and were very polite whenever they needed anything from us. Some days, a larger crew came out, such as when the concrete was poured. This included oversight by Marty, who was also great to work with. Jon was on site several days each week to make sure things were going well, talk us through anything that had come up, and answer any questions we had. He was quick to identify and address anything that needed to be adjusted, such as moving a drip line to allow for AC installation we have coming up. We are very happy with the end result and have gotten many compliments on our new yard. Jon and the entire Timberwood crew were easy to work with. Jon communicated well throughout the process and once installation was done, came out the following week to talk us through maintenance and see how everything was looking. He has promised to come out again in 3 weeks to adjust the irrigation schedule once the plants are established. We definitely recommend Timberwood and will happily use them in the future if we need any additional work done.- Brandon B.

TKBM team did a great job. Tim met with us, listened to our vision and really helped create our dream patio / yard. Access for equipment to do the work was very challenging and this did not phase them at all. It could not have turned out any better than it is! Not applicable since they don't work in this area - I did have an review (excellent) for tree trimming and pruning by the Tree Barber and they said that the comments on Angie's List showed them as the sprinkler control valve repair company with a negative review - this is a mistake on your list. The Tree Barber did an excellent job and not involved in sprinkler control valve repairs. The other company on your list of three who does sprinkler control valve repairs called, but never showed up. Please correct the error for the Tree Barber. And I will still continue to use Angie's List. Best, Bill Beeson

Nick was professional in every sense of the word. He showed-up on time, set expectations of the services and cost, was polite and enjoyable to speak with, and fixed the problem with the sprinkler zone on my slope. It turned out to be a hard problem to diagnose and fix, but he did it. I was so happy with the results that I asked him to expand another sprinkler zone for my raised garden beds. I couldn't be happier with his work.

Travis and his team were very easy to work with. From the start he was able to build on our ideas to help with the design aspect and help turned our drab backyard into both pleasing to the eye as well as functional area for us to utilize. The paver designs were lovely and expertly installed and the plants selections were beautiful. I strongly recommend them as they are involved from start to finish of the entire project, including drafting up designs and HOA documents needed for community based projects. My wife and I will enjoy our backyard for years to come.

Cale Abramson and his team outperformed themself. First, I would like to say that I had no connections with friends who work in the turf industry. I received 5 quotes and drilled each company with learning opportunities and questions. Cale was patient and knowledgeable about all of them. Cale never attempted to sale to me but also told it straight even if it wasn't financially what a person would want to hear. Cale informed me of the whole process and even sold me a less premium turf for the benefit of the purpose it was going be used for. The morning of, Cale came out and walked the property with me and his crew so we were all included on my desires... and then his team went to work and worked hard. The project was only roughly a 900 square foot area but his team worked 2 days prepping the lot and perfecting the project. His team removed and disposed the current dirt, terminated existing irrigation, and then graded and compacted the lot with their own base. I have multiple kids and was planing to build a playground on the turf so Home Turf was able to accommodate my desire for fall pads to also be placed in a certain area. Home Turf also created a clean edge using pressure treated wood (my choice) to the turf which help separated the turf from the other parts of my yard. Home Turf's estimate was the most detailed and professional with itemization of products, multiple financing options, background information on the company and previous jobs performed, and one of the best warranty in the business. I will recommend Cale and his team at Home Turf to everyone who is interest in turf. I am confident that they will take care of you, just like they did for me.

Over the last three years we remodeled our home and we dealt with two contractors and many sub-contractors and there were always problems, delays and conflicting costs. It was maddening!! Working with Marco was such a pleasure!! He gave us a detailed proposal and a timeline and then he executed it! He would tell us the plan, ask for the money to complete the task and then on to the next item and check that off the list. He was extremely organized and timely. He is a good business man and he is a good person! I couldn't recommend him more. Our yard is beautiful and people in the neighborhood basically knock on our door to ask us about our yard.
