"I recently had my roof replaced, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the initial estimate to the final cleanup, the entire process was professional and stress-free. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, and paid close attention to every detail. The quality of workmanship was excellent, and it is clear that they take pride in their work. Communication was outstanding throughout the project, and all of my questions were answered promptly. The job was completed on schedule, and the property was left spotless when they finished. If you’re looking for a reliable, honest, and skilled roofing contractor, I highly recommend this company. Igor was great! He exceeded my expectations, and I would not hesitate to hire him again."

"It took 3 hours to get an estimate. The salesman kept pressing for information about how much money I could put as a down payment. I only got an estimate after I threatened to leave. The total cost was very high. The person who called to schedule the salesman appointment was very pushy about windows and siding. About a week after my conversation with the salesman, a person called from DaBella and asked for a review of my experience. I finally hung up in exasperation. I have had other estimates from roofers who were able to be simple and direct. Price was a secondary factor in rejecting the company. I value simple, honest, direct people who are interested in getting me what I need and don't push."

"On a home built in 1957 Approved Contractor Inc (ACI) installed new construction windows and sliding glass doors, stripped the house of old siding, removed old plywood sheathing and old insulation, and then insulated and stuccoed the house. What was important was not only finding a reputable construction company, but also one that would coordinate the total project. The added benefits were quality work and high-end material, at a competitive price. Of note, was the stucco method (4 layers-coats - scratch, brown, finish and texture). The texture coat is an elastomeric paint (color of my choosing) that is water repellent, reflective and provides an even color on the walls - with a lifetime warranty. Other stucco contractors stop on the finish coat, with the color in stucco. In addition ACI uses its own subcontractors. ACI was professional, flexible, and did really great work. ACI was a superb choice."

"We chose Arrow Building after getting bids from other companies to repair a roof leak and replace a lot of siding that had dry rot on our two car , story detached garage . One of the reasons we chose Arrow is that they could do the roofing, siding and painting. We met with Terry Sr and he was very professional and sent his son Terry ll to set up the dates. I would have had to use two to three contrators with the other bids. Arrows price was right in line with the others. The roofing crew came out did a tourch down roof with new facia and drip line. The crew worked in 107degree weather and did a great job. They were very friendly and let its know what they were doing. Terry ll was there to get them started. The siding crew came and tore out the old siding and wrapped the garage in plastic. Again Terryll was there to start the job site The HardieBoard siding was installed. Other companies wanted to just replace the 35year old cedar siding dry rot boards only which was probably half the siding. For just a bit more, Arrow tore out all the siding and replaced it with hardieboard. They even replaced half a dozen studs that had had some damage. I watched as they caulked the seams and covered the nail holes. Next came the painting crew and they checked all the seams and nail holes and then primed the siding with a colored primer. Then came the main color. Spray painted both horizontal and verticle giving it a thick coat. Terry ll came by and suggested he power wash the garage door the next morning and send his crew back out to paint the door. This was not part of our contract but they painted the door and the stairs, again not part of the contract. The only delay in the project was a custom door that took them 3 extra days to get. Not their fault. All three crews were very professional, on time, cleaned up at the end of each day and didn't mind talking with us explaining things and answering our questions. We are so please with Arrow Building that we plan to use them when we move in a few years. Just today a friend saw our new garage and mentioned she had a roof that needed so attention. We immediately recommended Arrow Building. Great Job at a great price with great people."

"We started researching last summer how much it would cost and what it would entail to have our asbestos siding removed to prepare for our foundation to be repaired. We got three different bids, and San Diego Painting was right in the middle of the bids as far as cost was concerned and Al Canales, the estimator, struck me as being very concise about the job and I liked his attitude. We did not have the work done until March, but Al was very patient and understanding as to our anxiety about the job, since this is our first home and our first attempt at major repair. The forman for the job, Victor, was very professional and careful when removing the siding so that we could preserve the old wooden shingles underneath......which was a critical part of the job. They did a great job and we were happy with the job done."

Customers say: True professional

"We found McCormick home builders through Angie’s list. They were not one of our original contacts, but they contacted us and came out to give us a quote. Matteo was extremely helpful, informative, honest, and gave us reasonable realistic prices, and did not try to inflate the prices or pressure us in anyway. We felt very comfortable with him immediately. We felt like he was a member of the family that we could just talk to and ask questions he was very personable. He gave us his contact number in case we had other questions and he was always available when we needed him for any type of questions or concerns. Mateo‘s team did a beautiful job. They were fast. They were efficient. They cleaned up beautifully. They did a wonderful job. They were very considerate of our time our needs and our neighbors. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Matteo from McCormick home builders for any home building projects, and we will be calling him again in the future!"

Siding questions, answered by experts

Many modern homes have soffits, but older ones don’t, and you may be wondering why. Older homes have eaves that extend further beyond the home and help to circulate air, negating the need for a soffit. This style of building has faded away, therefore, modern homes need separate soffit installation. Modern soffits are more efficient than this older style and require less material to construct, saving homeowners money.

The best types of siding to withstand hail are fiber cement siding and engineered wood siding. Fiber cement siding is known for impact resistance, while some brands of engineered wood siding can withstand hail as big as 1 and 3/4 inches with no marks. Vinyl and aluminum siding are the most susceptible to hail.

Yes, cedar is a popular option for shou sugi ban siding, which is a Japanese style of charring wood for a home’s exterior to finish and protect the material. Cedar shou sugi ban siding costs $15 per square foot on average, but ranges between $2 and $25 per square foot depending on your home’s size, the price of labor, and where you live.

The cost to install or replace brick or stone siding generally ranges from $10 to $50 per square foot. The final price depends on several factors, including the specific material type, local labor rates, and any necessary preparation work, such as removing old siding. For example, different types of stone have varying costs per square foot: natural stone ($4.50–$35), stone veneer ($11–$13), faux stone ($6–$9), and cultured or manufactured stone ($5–$8).

Vinyl siding will fade slowly over time but will likely be most noticeable starting 10–15 years after installation. This timeline varies based on factors such as the climate where you live. In areas with more extreme hot or cold conditions, vinyl is likely to fade more quickly.
