This is the first time I have used this company. I was able to get an appointment in less than one day. Accomodated my work schedule. The plumber, Bryant, was amazing. Very persistent and finally figured out the problem. I will definitely use them in the future and recommend them to others. I already have!

As noted by others this is about the upsell and not about providing you quality service at the deal price, which is initially priced to get you to use them again and provide a recommendation to others. It goes from the deal price to a couple of hundred while you’re at the point where you just want the running toilet issue resolved.

Colepepper Plumbing recently offered a $39.00 toilet tune-up special on Angies list which I purchased. That offer included; inspecting and adjusting the fill valve; cleaning rim flush holes; replacing the worn flapper and adjusting the tank level operation of one toilet. It also included a home plumbing inspection. This is exactly how the “deal” is described on Angles list and on the coupon that I received after my $39 purchase. I was having a problem with one of our toilets. After an intermittent number of flushes the water would not shut off and run continuously. Sometimes it would occur more frequently. To stop the continuous loss of water when the problem occurred I would have to remove the tank top and “jiggle” the chain hooked to the flapper or just press on the flapper. Sometimes just pushing the flush handle a few times would also stop the flow of water. I thought the special offered by Colepepper certainly worth having plumber looking at the problem, especially since I thought it might be a problem with the flapper. I was contacted by Colepepper Plumbing a few days after purchasing the special and arranged for one of their plumbers to perform the toilet tune-up. A technician arrived at the agreed upon day and time. When he arrived, he looked into the tank pulled out the flapper and said it was worn and needed to be replaced. He replaced the flapper and tested the toilet by flushing it a few times. It appeared to be working. However, I reminded him that the problem was intermittent, and a few successful flushes was not an indicator the problem was resolved. We would have to wait and see what happens over time. I was with the plumber during the time entire time he worked on the problem. I did not see him inspect or adjust the fill valve, clean any rim flush holes or adjusted the tanks level operation. This was supposed to be part of the tune-up. All he did was listen to how I described the problem, looked into the toilet tank and replaced the flapper. That was part of the $39 coupon special. Unfortunately, after the Plumber left the problem continued. I called Colepepper approximately 5 days later and arranged for a plumber to come the next day, Tuesday morning between 8:00 and 10:00 am. This was also a very acceptable time frame. At 8:45 am that Tuesday (10/30/18) morning, I received a telephone call from the same plumber who replaced the flapper telling me he would need to replace the flush valve. When I asked the cost, he indicated between $300 and $400. He said he would refund my $39 as well. It was very apparent to me after much discussion that he was not willing to come to my home again unless I agreed to have him replace the flush valve. When I asked him how he knew that the flush valve was the problem without inspecting it, I got the response “he has been doing plumbing work for 15 year and that the flush valve needed replacing”. I ended the conversation after some very heated discussion. It was obvious all he wanted to do was to perform additional work ($300-$400), which no one could guarantee may or may not solve the problem. He did mention that he would guarantee that work for a year. I am aware that a $39 offer is a way for Colepepper to hopefully secure additional more profitable business long term and is a loss leader for them. If you look at other reviews, they received on Angies list, the $39 special was part of several complaints, (upselling their services). I also did not appreciate the tone of the last call, which was courteous but came across as a “flip off”. I purchased the tune-up special because Colepepper was recommended by Angies list, a regrettable decision on my part. I will never use Colpepper again and they probably don’t care. Others can make their own decision. The above is what my first experience with Colepepper turned out to be, not good. I have used companies listed on Angies list for other work many times over the past few years. I was generally very pleased with the vendors and the work performed. I also wrote many reviews on Angies list and gave what I believe were honest positive evaluations to all those companies.

The plumber arrived on time and told us he "tightened things up". This was on a Monday afternoon- at 2:00 AM Thursday morning, a little more than 48 hours later, the tank on the toilet exploded, flooding our bathroom, a closet and damaging our downstairs neighbors ceilings and walls. When I called Colepeppers, they insisted they did nothing wrong but a different plumber says overtightening the bolts can cause an explosion. They sent out a drying company who put up a dehumidifier, but we knew the walls needed to be opened up to avoid mold. They gave me the name of their insurance company and their adjuster said "this will take weeks to investigate". We had to make a claim under our own homeowners so we could get the correct kind of remediation done and avoid mold.

After reporting a slow leak at the base of my bathroom sink hot water faucet (only when faucet on), a plumber came on a Tuesday to assess the problem and offer me a quote. I showed him the faucet and turned it on to show the slow leak. Surprisingly , he did not even examine the faucet or take it apart, but rather just pronounced that the stem needed replacing and he would order one and have it replaced on the following Thursday and gave me a cost estimate. Then on Thursday, another plumber from Colepepper arrived to replace the stem, and after a long time trying, could not, since he said it was frozen up with lime deposits and he could not remove it. Also that I would not only need the hot water faucet replaced, but also the entire faucet assembly--both faucets, spigot and drain assembly. I was furious that had the first plumber examined the faucet assembly properly, this situation would have been discovered earlier, saving me alot of time and money. And I had house guests arriving in a few days! To his credit, the 2nd plumber attempted that day to find a replacement faucet like the one I had at nearby plumbing supplies, but was unsuccessful. If I had not located the same Kohler faucet assembly online at Amazon (with free 2 day shipping) on my own, it would have been a disaster trying to find and replace a similar faucet system before my guest arrived. The Amazon shipment arrived on Saturday, and the 2nd plumber, Luis, was able to replace on Monday morning. I find little fault with the 2nd plumber who was doing his best in a horrible situation, but am not at all pleased that the first plumber did not even bother to diagnose the problem. I will not hire Colepepper again. This cost me three half-days of my time, Colepepper charged $385.00 for labor, and I paid Amazon $207.91 for parts.

Both of the plumbers I worked with were very professional, thorough and friendly. They showed up with in an hour of my calling them, accurately assessed the source of the problem and explained all of the work that they recommended doing and why. The plumber who performed the work over the span of two days was great. He was very respectful of my property and the other work that was going on in my yard at the same time. He did a very good job and I am happy with the final product. I am confident that it was done right.

Leo Duron was the plumber and he came out and repaired the pipe in record time. I was an emotional wreck; however, Leo was punctual, fast and very knowledgeable plumber. I will call him again if I ever have another issue with my plumbing. Keep up the good work Colepepper! You all are the best

The work was not done because I asked for a quote to replace the sink, along with replacing the H/C water lines. Because the quote was so high, I told the Tech. that I would have to consider whether I wanted the work done, and would get back to him. We completely forgot to discuss the H/C water line replacement, and the Tech. left. When I called him back, later, he quoted me a price, but I never heard back from the Company after calling and sending an email. I intended to have them do the replacement of the H/C water lines at the quoted price. I have completed the entire work, using another Company. The Tech. from Collpepper was polite , professional, and certainly very cooperative As a matter of fact, i suggested that he do a job for a neighbor, and he left my home and completed the neighbor's plumbing problem. My entire problem was the lack of followup which caused me to hire another contractor.
