"OUTSTANDING: I have preventive maintenance twice every year. Once to check all A/C equipment and once to check all Heating equipment. This past week technician Jeremy Zavala conducted the preventive maintenance on the Heating system. I was scheduled for the window of noon-3:00PM. Jeremy drove up at noon sharp! Jensen's techs have always arrived on the front end of the promised window. Jeremy was in a clean uniform; wore shoe covers so as not to track anything into my home; introduced himself; friendly and smiling; and went directly to work. He serviced the equipment as well as the thermostat then went over a list of everything addressed. Jeremy is a perfect example and representative of the things I personally want and Jensen A/C & Heating always provides: - Outstanding customer service - Well trained, knowledgeable service technicians - Prompt - Efficient - Respectful of my home: Always leaves the work area neat and clean - Trust-worthy - Personable - If a part needs replacement no need to special order - it's in the van - Jensen's Office & Administrative personnel also demonstrate the qualities noted above. - Always fair cost and excellent value And unlike many of the better known San Diego HVAC companies, Jensen has never made a sales pitch at the completion of a preventive maintenance service call. Since having Jensen as my only preferred HVAC provider my A/C and Heating has been 100% reliable."

"They came, they diagnosed the problem (which wasn't in the air conditioning), they told me how to fix it, and then they left...after having refused payment!!!!! i thought i must be living in the 1950's in a small town!!"
Using the sewer camera to inspect the inside of a customer's drains
Camera inspection through a sewer vent on a customer's roof
Hydro jet uses water at 4,000psi to clean the inside of the mainline drain which connects all the home's drains to the city's sewer system.
Using a snake we can go through the cleanouts on the side of the house.
With the cleanouts snaked, and the blockage located, we can send the hydro jet through the sewer vent and flush out the blocked drain.

"My 40-year-old central A/C died on a really hot Wednesday. On Thursday, Airmaxx came out and verified it needed replacing. They also verified my suspicion that the old unit was undersized for my house. By 3:30 Saturday afternoon I had a complete new heating and A/C system installed and working. I was really impressed with their speed and efficiency."

"Did a great job...it was a very long day from start to finish however. They did a great job of keeping everything as clean as they could since our attic access was in the master closet! Yikes! Really made a difference and our house stayed much cooler with the fan and new insulation!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, government incentives and programs are available to encourage energy-efficient upgrades in many regions. These incentives may include tax credits, rebates, grants, and low-interest loans for homeowners who invest in energy-efficient improvements such as HVAC system upgrades, insulation, and efficient windows. The availability and specific details of these incentives can vary by location, so check with your local government or utility company to explore your options.

No, for two very important reasons. First, it’s illegal to release refrigerant into the air or ground since it can be toxic and cause environmental damage. Technicians typically pump old or extra refrigerant into separate tanks for special disposal. Second, without professional equipment to read refrigerant pressure and levels, plus the AC’s suggested requirements, it’s impossible to know if you’ve removed the right amount of refrigerant. Stay away from a DIY solution here and seek an expert with the right tools.

You should get anywhere from three to five quotes for HVAC replacement to get an idea of the average cost of a new unit. Although this quote-collecting process can be time consuming, it allows you to compare what work is required, what type of unit you should install, and how much you should expect to pay for the service.

The higher the BTU rating an air conditioner has, the more effective it can be at cooling your space. It will cool off your room faster in the short term. However, over the long term, if the unit has too many BTUs for the space, it can wear down the unit faster and shorten its life span.

While you’ll pay more upfront for a brand-new HVAC unit, you can save money in the long run. Here’s how to save on your new HVAC system:

  • When purchasing a high-efficiency system, your energy bills will be lower in the future.

  • You may be eligible for special offers from your local energy company.

  • Depending on the system, you may be eligible for HVAC rebates and tax credits.

  • Choose to replace your air conditioning unit and furnace simultaneously to save on labor and installation costs.
