"Goodfellas took care of us when we needed it! We had a pipe burst between floors in our multi-level house this summer, ruining our downstairs kitchen, and effecting some cabinetry in our upstairs kitchen. Once we got that clean-up out of the way and got the insurance claim started, we started shopping around for contractors that could help us out. We had three different estimates, but Goodfellas was the least expensive while still meeting all our needs. Our project manager Danny really set up a plan that would fix the damage, while also giving our upstairs kitchen a much needed facelift. His crew foreman Nir, and his crew—especially Arnold—was very helpful and efficient. It was easy to communicate with Nir via phone and text, and I would say I spoke to Danny via email at least a few times a week. Danny was really helpful in matching our new cabinets to the paint choice I had made for the remaining cabinets. They both made sure we were happy with each step and installment, or they fixed it until we were. We even ran into some insurance trouble midway through, putting a halt on our funds for the project. After explaining the whole nightmare to Danny, he was patient and waited with us until Nationwide could pull it together to help us finish this project. And once the final money was approved, Danny’s crew was quick to finish up the kitchen so that we could return once again to our normal lives. In short, they met our demands easily and did the project quickly and proficiently. Whenever there was a confusion or problem, it was easily communicated and handled. The crews were friendly and respectful of my family and house. Arnold went out of his way to make sure my kitchen upstairs was exactly how I wanted it, even down to giving me choice of threshold trim when he could have just slapped down any ol’ trim and I probably wouldn’t have noticed. And he always had a quick smile for my children. I would recommend this company to anyone needing work done in their home."
"There were 2 teams that came to the door, one for the deck and the other for the paver project, I explained the details and even showed them a somewhat blueprint of my dream deck and these guys were on point! ... The pavers were finished quick and my old deck was demolished, the wood was in pretty bad shape. The guys built it and refinished it with the waterproof stain I had chosen. I was amazed at their hard work. Maybe once or twice they ran late by coming in 15/20 min late, but they did a great job overall. The pavers had a combo of cobble stone and river stone which led to the grassy area."
"Andriy and his crew were very professional and did an excellent job with our custom cabinetry. They completed the job with estimated date. Very trust worthy guys. Will use them again. "
"Overall the job took the better part of a week and from our perspective was a success. Ryan worked with us in selecting the right color for the stain. He carefully removed and replaced the numerous potted plants we had on the deck and left the work area in a clean condition. The patio and balcony look great and our only regret is that we didn't do it earlier."
"The work was done by 2 guys, Marcus was the best, they painted the outside of the house that was not in the good condition. there was a week of prep work by Marcus, very meticulous and takes pride of his work. The work lasted about 2 - 2 and half weeks, and they were just great and did an excellent job. Their pricing was very reasonable and I got along great with them. Interior painting is in line for them to work on my bathroom and 2 bedroom."
"With the amount of rain that we had had, the ceiling in my garage fell on two cars. I had many contractors out to give me bids on this project and I found them all to be unprofessional, inexperienced, and a poor choice for this project. I had used KS Construction and Design in the past for a project on my other home where they tore down and built a new deck for me. They were wonderful to work with then, truly professionals, master craftsmen who take all the stress out of the project for me. When they did my deck I didn't like the finish that they put on the deck. They agreed that it didn't look right and totally pulled down the deck rebuilt it all with out charging me.
When I called them for my garage project they were wonderful to work with. They underpriced everyone else, the workmen that come out everyday show up on time, are professional, and are kept on task. They took all the stress out of this process and I will only use them in the future. They are truly the Rolls Royce of contracts. Licensed, Insured, and bonded their goal is customer satisfaction and they are a joy to work with.
"Chris initially visited our home to paint but we learned about his ability to do much more and he exceeded all of our expectations. I do not write reviews very often but I am so impressed with Chris' professionalism and quality of work and he deserves the positive feedback. Chris met with our family nights and weekends to understand our needs and his swift responses and excellent reliability set him a part from everyone else. We love our new Kitchen and we deeply appreciate Chris' positive attitude and hard work. Excellent quality and service."
Yes, you can build a deck around a fire pit, as long as it is safely enclosed, meets code requirements, and is at least 15 feet away from your home. You’ll want to ensure you have a heat-resistant barrier between the fire pit and your deck to prevent any structural damage and fires. A galvanized ring surrounded by pavers, brick, or stone makes for a beautiful, safe, and sturdy design.
Many people say the best composite decking is Trex, TimberTech, or Fiberon. These brands have formulated composite deck boards to withstand the elements and hold up over time. Each offers a range of product lines varying in durability, price, and appearance. Compare their different composite decking offers for cost, looks, and features before deciding on a product.
A sunroom is worth installing on a deck, both for the value and your own enjoyment. A Florida room addition costs between $10,000 and $140,000, so it’s pretty expensive. However, a quality sunroom can offer a 50% return on investment, making your home more sellable. Plus, if it’s a space you and your family enjoy relaxing in daily for years to come, it’s worth the money, time, and effort, even without the added monetary value.
When building a deck, #2 grade lumber is a go-to for several reasons. It’s strong, budget-friendly, and works well for most framing and decking needs. But upgrading to #1 or Appearance Grade can give your deck that extra visual edge if you're after a cleaner, more polished look for high-visibility spots.
Cutting the boards directly is one of the fastest ways to remove deck boards with hidden fasteners. Mark two parallel lines that are one-third of the total measurement on both ends and cut out the centerpiece. Then, remove the end of the board that doesn’t have a fastener. Finally, pry open the fastened side and pull it up to pop out the screw or access the fastener. This also allows you to salvage portions of boards for other projects.
