"I Recently had the pleasure of working with Idan Mizrahi and Viktor Hohlov, who installed new windows and did a full exterior paint job on my house. From start to finish, they showed true professionalism, exceptional skill, and a genuine commitment to high quality work. The windows installation was seamless- they handled everything with precision and care, ensuring each window fit perfectly and looked great. As for the exterior painting, the results were beyond my expectations. they used a meticulous spray-painting technique that provided full, even coverage over my stucco, giving my house fresh, modern look. plus, they really cared about my landscaping and keeping the roof from excess spray. What impressed me most was their attention to detail and respect my property. they kept the work clean, communicated regularly, and were responsive to any question I had. It's clear they take pride in what they do, and it shows the outstanding results. I highly recommend Idan and Viktor for anyone looking to upgrade their home. I am defiantly going to u use them in the near future for more inside work this time."

"Couldn't have gone better. I was under a time crunch because my tenant moved out and I didn't want to let the house sit a whole month without income. I urgently read AL reviews and called 5 companies.
Don, the owner I think, of Foothill came out himself at a time that worked for me. He immediately impressed me with his insight, friendliness and his suggestions of how to keep costs low while not skimping on quality. He worked with me on price and I gladly gave him the job. Couldn't be happier, I was on the road for work when the work got done and thankfully it went off without a hitch; no calls, no extra charges, no delays. The place was sparkling and beautiful for our new tenants upon move-in.
Foothill has a customer for life.

"I obtained three quotes for this job. One quote was totally out of line with the others. J & J's bid was lower by about 5% of the next lowest bid. I had several tasks I wanted done in addition to the painting. The owner, Joon, was very straightforward about what he could do and what he could not. Joon and I had extensive discussions at the beginning of the job. We had identified potential problem areas. For example, I had already chosen my colors. He was upfront in pointing out that the colors I chose had low hide characteristics. So we were able to build in some contingencies into the contract. As it turned out, he was correct about most of the colors and had to use an addition coat in several rooms. But as I noted, this was anticipated in advance and built into the contract. I had a warping/bulging issue with drywall in a bathroom. I showed it to Joon and we discussed an approach to address it. Turned out to be related to faulty construction when the condominium was built. Joon himself came out and carefully cut open an area. He found some pipes that actually protruded beyond the boundary of the wood frame and also some problems with the pour of the concrete to which the frame was attached. He was able to replace the existing drywall with a thinner sheet. Even so, he had to shave part of the backside of new drywall he installed to better accomodate the pipes. It made the situation much better and I now know what the problem was. His painters were methodical in their work. They completed the job on schedule. In summary, this was the best experience I have had with anyone I have hired to do home improvement work for me."

"We worked with Ali (sales manager) and Tony (project manager), who took the time to design a project that made sense for our property and our budget, made a number of suggestions and recommendations and were never pushy or tried to "sell" us on something. The crew really went above and beyond to provide top quality workmanship and overall we were in very good hands. Highly recommended!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Choosing the best color for your home exterior should factor in longevity as well as your personal taste. To keep your house looking newly painted as long as possible, stay away from red paint. Although red homes pop and are quintessential for country-style barns, red paint tends to fade fastest in the sun. Go with earth tones if you want paint that best resists fading.

You’ll need to wait until the surface is completely dry, which can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours under optimal conditions. The waiting period depends on several factors, including the type of siding and the weather conditions. Trying to paint before the surface is completely dry can trap moisture under the paint, leading to bubbling, blistering, and mold growth.

No, it is not okay to paint over rotted wood. Painting over rotted wood will not address the underlying issue and can trap moisture, leading to further decay. Properly addressing the rotted wood by removing and replacing or repairing the damaged areas is necessary before you can even consider painting.

Yes, pressure-treated wood can occasionally turn green due to certain preservatives, such as copper-based chemicals, used during the treatment process. These chemicals react with the wood, creating a greenish tint. The good news? It's temporary, and the color will fade over time. Staining or painting can also help hide any unwanted hues.

Staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan and protect it from the elements. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it is not impervious to damage from moisture, sun exposure, splintering, fading, and rot over time. Applying a protective finish creates a shield that preserves the wood's strength and appearance, potentially extending its life by five to 10 years.

When choosing a finish, it's helpful to understand the difference between a sealer and a stain. A sealer sits on top of the wood, whereas a combination stain and sealer soaks into the top layer. Because it penetrates the wood, a stain generally offers better protection against UV damage and rot and lasts significantly longer. For the best results that also preserve the wood's natural color, consider using a near-translucent stain.

To maintain protection, plan on reapplying the stain or sealer every two to three years, either as a DIY project or by hiring a professional.
