"Foothill Painting was very professional in responding to our original inquiry, we arranged a visit to obtain an estimate, and Joe came out, as scheduled, to size up the job.  Joe was very helpful in answering our questions and providing his opinions/advice as appropriate.  We received a formal estimate shortly thereafter in the mail and via email.  We had Joe come out one more time to ask him a few more questions since, at that point, we had narrowed down the remaining bids and, based on the discussions with various painting contractors, had additional concerns to sort out. The end result of the meeting with Joe was awarding Foothill Painting the job.

We decided on the colors, with some help from Joe, and scheduled the job. The painters (two of them) arrived as scheduled and worked on the project for the next 3-4 days, prepping first, then priming, then painting.  The stucco on our home had never been painted and it is a very rough finish, so much effort was required to insure that all surfaces were fully painted.  Joe would come by every morning to insure that all necessary supplies were on hand, to provide any directions for the day, and to address any questions, concerns, issues that might come up. The painters would pick up after themselves at the end of every day.

The one area for improvement, from our experience, would be a little more attention to prep work, as it relates to holes and rough surfaces (needing filling and sanding before priming), particular on the wood surfaces.  Joe's help in getting the small issues that surfaced resolved in a timely manner was much appreciated. He was a good listener and did his best to make us happy!

The staff in the office was professional, friendly and efficient throughout our entire experience with Foothill Painting. "I am so very pleased with the work that Thomas Parks and his crew accomplished on my home/decks/roofs and gazebo. It took three weeks but he was very thorough. The first day was powerwashing the house. One day to dry and then each day thereafter there was a crew of five. The preparation work was extremely tedious. They used hand powersanders to cover almost every inch to even out cracks and layers of old paint. It was no easy job. In some spots it is three levels.....up and down ladders; and it just happened to be very hot weather. After completing Thomas asked me to write a list of things that might need touch up. Again, I was impressed. As we walked around the house/decks/gazebo together he spotted some small things that I did not see. That is to say, he is very honest and trustworthy. "Granted, the work isn't completely finished, but I wanted to update my review to post how impressed I am. Danny Gold and his crew just completed the tile install phase. They did an extremely complex "wood" tile pattern which looks beautiful in photos and EVEN better in reality. In addition, the bulk of the work and hassles and noise was done remotely while I was out of town. Luis was great an explaining things and even though I wasn't there, I felt everything would be handled with the utmost care and attention to details. Talk about trustworthy!!! Such a gift in a contractor. The tile work cost me a bit more than I expected, but the work was well worth it. They are handling all the extremely annoying inspections (City of Santa Monica slows everything so much!) My shower glass guy was super impressed with the precision of the bathroom.
