"Brian showed up on time, assessed the problems and fixed them both; a leaky lav faucet and a semi-clogged shower drain. I had 3 other plumbing companies show up and assess the problems before All Good. Not one of them did anything but give me ridiculous quotes to solve these relatively simple problems. Brian was done in 45 minutes. I would recommend All Good to perform any plumbing work you need to get done!"

"It has been our happy experience to have Steve help us with plumbing emergencies twice. On the first occasion he helped us to repair the water main from our well and the second time some hard to get to pipes burst in the stemwall behind our water heater which ended up being a very complicated fix. Steve works with great focus and skillful determination. He takes pride in his work and genuinely enjoys his craft. He is pleasant and professional. He disrupted as little as possible to get the job accomplished and cleaned up when he was done. We would recommend Steve without hesitation."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Although linear drains allow water to flow quickly and efficiently, they tend to clog more easily than traditional drains. Linear drains are flush with the shower floor, allowing soap scum and hair to potentially build up. They’re also longer than other drains, allowing for more space to let debris fall into the drainpipe.

Several signs can tip you off to a clogged dishwasher drain. At first, you may notice that it’s taking longer than usual for the dishwasher to drain, or you may hear gurgling sounds during the draining part of the cycle. You might also notice water backing up into your sink or excess food at the bottom of the dishwasher after a load. The most obvious sign, though, is seeing standing water at the bottom of your dishwasher after the cycle has finished.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

A bit of water in the bowl can help unclog a toilet, especially if you're using a plunger. However, if the bowl is full to the brim, you'll need to strap on gloves and remove some of the wastewater in a cup or container so it doesn't overflow when you try to unblock the pipe. If you're concerned about it filling further, manually close the flapper in the toilet tank or turn off the water supply to the toilet.

If your drain doesn’t have metal crosshairs or crossbars, you should use a tub drain extractor. These tools create a grip on the drain so you can turn it using a 1/2-inch ratchet drive, drain key, or wrench. Your drain may not have crosshairs if it's old and broken.
