"John and his crew, consisting of two sons and his nephew did a fabulous job repairing several tiles on my rear patio and sealing it. They moved my heavy patio furniture off of it, put it on a tarp and covered it all up. Came back the next day and replaced everything as it was. "I was thrilled with the work performed by the Mercury Pool team. The waterline tile work was detailed, completed with care and high quality. The cool deck and pebble tech were also done very well. A wood deck requires annual cleaning and regular inspections for loose or broken boards, nails, and screws. It should be refinished by applying a stain or sealer every two to three years to protect the wood from water damage, rot, mildew, and sun fading. While this is fine for typical use, it is usually not enough to hold the weight of a hot tub filled with water and people. To safely support a hot tub, your wood deck will likely require reinforcement. Therefore, it’s best to have a contractor or a structural engineer assess it before hot tub installation.

Pressure-treated decking may be worth it if you want a natural, insect- and rot-resistant decking material that will last for decades with proper maintenance.
