"Best experience I have ever had with a contractor. Reasonable, flexible, and apparently the only one in Tucson willing to do EIFS for a residential client. Promptly returned every call, text, and email. Came to the house several times to answer questions, go over details, and make sure I knew exactly what was being done and what I needed to do to prepare for the project. Always on time. No upleasant surprises. Completed the project in the exact time frame he originally predicted. Produced beautiful results. Eleven stars!"

"They just finished up repairing stucco on our entire home. What a wonderful job they did! Our house looks 100 times better. Ivan (the owner) and his entire team did a quality, professional job and his wife Laura, kept us updated on any delays due to weather, etc. The crew was polite and helpful and everything was cleaned up when they were all done with the project. They were excellent and we would highly recommend them."

"So so I wanted 2 light fixtures installed and there was problems with both, Nick ended up repairing 2 lights instead. I am not allowed by my husband to use unlicensed contractors anymore and was so surprised that Angie's list would recommend unlicensed handymen. How do I in the future be sure I am only hiring licensed contractors?"

Eifs Installers FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, egress windows can significantly add value to a home. By making basement and attic areas safer and more livable, they allow you to market these spaces as finished living areas, which increases your property's value. Many homeowners can recover the full installation cost, with some sources citing a return on investment of around 70%. The exact value added depends on your specific home, location, and adherence to local building codes. Beyond financial value, egress windows enhance functionality by adding natural light and comfort. They are also a crucial safety feature, often mandated by building codes to serve as an emergency exit.

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

Adding windows to a house is expensive. Budget roughly $5,800 to add a single window, and double or triple that to add two or three. In some cases, adding a single window can exceed $20,000, depending on the type of exterior wall, the size of the window, the type of window, local permit costs, and other factors.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.
