"We had a large crack in our granite countertop by the sink and Arizona Granite is the ONLY company I could find willing to do this repair in the Prescott area. The Tech, Justin was very good at blending In the color & polishing the top to match the shine. In fact the area he was working on has more of a shine than the rest of the countertops. Thinking about having him renew all my countertops.. The repair is practically invisible and is very smooth. Justin is very thorough and did an absolutely beautiful job! We feel lucky to have found him and are so happy with his work."

"Went to their location and found just the right granite we were looking for.  Our new sinks and faucets had not arrive yet so they put a hold on the granite for us until the sinks and faucets arrived.  It turned out that they were delayed for a little over a month.  I checked with Unique and they said it wasn't a problem, that they would hold the granite until the sinks and faucets arrived.  Once the sinks and faucets arrived they came out and measured everything and took one of the sinks with them to insure that the cut out for the sinks was spot-on.  Once that was done they called and set up a date for installation.  They showed up on time removed old counter tops and installed the new ones.  They were professional and cleaned up the job site when done.  Start to finish a great job. Will use them again.

"I had someone refer Sleeping Indian to us, and I contacted Steve by phone. He came by and provided us with an estimate and asked us to go and pick out a granite slab and sinks. We went to Arizona Tile and picked out our slab and selected the edge cut as well. We had someone else do the tear out the day before Steve installed the tops. He came on Feb. 21st and completed the installation, He brought his wife Sherry and overall it was a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend Sleeping Indian for any granite countertop installations.

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Yes, installing new quartz countertops can increase your home’s value. Updating your counters with a durable material like quartz that will last decades is a great investment.

Recycled glass countertops can last between 10 and 20 years with regular care and maintenance. The exact lifespan depends on the binding agent used; acrylic is a highly durable choice, while concrete may shorten the countertop's life. Because the material is non-porous, it is heat-resistant, stain-resistant, and easy to clean, allowing it to withstand the rigors of a modern kitchen without showing significant wear and tear for over a decade.

Quartz countertops are known for their durability, but they aren’t indestructible. Quartz countertops can crack under extreme pressure, like when experiencing a heavy impact. The same can happen with regular exposure to high temperatures. Finally, improper installation makes the quartz more vulnerable.

Yes, quartzite is heat-resistant, so you can put hot pots and pans on top without risking damage.

No, you should not put hot pots or pans directly on epoxy countertops, as this can cause permanent damage. While epoxy is heat-resistant, it is not fully heatproof. Epoxy countertops can typically withstand temperatures ranging from 135°F to 300°F, but cookware directly from a stove or oven can reach much higher temperatures (300°F to 500°F). Placing an extremely hot item on the surface can cause it to melt, soften, or discolor. To protect the integrity and appearance of your countertops, always use a trivet, hot pad, pot holder, or other heat-resistant barrier before setting down hot cookware.
