2nd Generation Tile & Stone

I contacted Mike through Angi to install a file floor. He was friendly and professional and a great communicator. The floor he installed looks amazing. Mike was a pleasure to work with and I will definitely call him again for future project work.

We chose 2nd Generation Flooring based on reviews which is why I think it's so important for me to provide this one. I also think it's very important to note that the "negative" reviews are from people who have never actually worked with 2nd Generation Tile ... AND that the owner, Mike, responded to each of them which speaks to his professionalism and work ethic. We purchased a 2200sf home knowing that we would tear out every square inch of the existing tile, laminate, carpet and tiny baseboards. Mike was extremely responsive, patient and personable throughout the quoting process. Knowing that we wanted to get into the house as soon as possible, Mike had Ted start the work almost immediately after we received the keys. As a one-man crew, the project took 4 weeks which is exactly what they estimated. After the flooring was completed, we also added a kitchen backsplash to the scope of work. Throughout the process, Mike and Ted communicated well with us, provided their professional opinion when it came to grout color and finish pieces, picked up the tile we ordered (saving us the cost of shipping) and were flexible with our other contractor's (painters) scheduling.

Absolutely fantastic - shower came out amazing along with floor. Extremely happy with the results and I highly recommend Mike. Mike took extra care to line up the tiles such that the pattern matched perfectly. Very prompt service and wonderful to do business with.

Couldn’t be better

Our remodel went so well!! Mike Hershberger was honest, polite, respectful, and accommodating in every way. He removed the old tub/shower and all debris daily. There were no hidden costs and a thorough invoice plus payments and terms were presented beforehand. The bathroom looks amazing--we love it.

Mike was great to work with and did an outstanding job within the budget! We had some problems with dye lots on the tile and he worked with the distributor on our behalf to make sure we would be satisfied with the outcome. Would highly recommend him!

The service was great! I had a vision in my head of what i wanted, which was a little more extensive than a typical back splash. I had the walls above my sink and stove done, but also had this sort of feature wall I wanted to do. I measured (incorrectly) 30 square feet and when it came out to be more than that they honored their price. And the final product was amazing! I would definitely hire them again in the future.

We hired 2nd Generation Tile & Stone to install our backsplash for our kitchen. Upon arriving, Mike was very professional and knowledgeable. Ideas were shared and he guided us in the right direction to give us the best product. We used his ideas to modify our backsplash to give us exactly what we wanted. The installation was very smooth and organized. Once backsplash was set and grouted, Mike went over and beyond to leave our kitchen cleaner than it was before he started. Not only is Mike a master at his craft, but he is a great guy and very personable. Overall, all of our expectations were succeeded! We would recommend 2nd Generation to all of our friends and family.

Mike was a pleasure to work with on this project. He was very communicative and knowledgeable about his trade. He made sure that on the day of the project we were ready to go. He even fit me in his schedule to get it done prior to the originally scheduled start date.

Our new backs-plash looks incredible! Our kitchen is so beautiful now and have already received many compliments. Ted installed the tile and he was very professional and very good at his job. He paid attention to detail and the quality of work was outstanding. I relied on the reviews from Angie's List when searching for a contractor. I am so glad I contacted Mike and chose 2nd Generation Tile & Stone to do the work for us. We would definitely hire them again and recommend them if you want your home to look beautiful and most importantly if you want quality!

Can't say enough great things about this Company. Loved the workmanship, Mike was meticulous. They arrived the day we had scheduled and worked until the job was finished. They did a fabulous job on the shower surround - simply gorgeous! The flooring was spectacular and truly made the place look like a million bucks. I'm so glad I found this Company. We usually dread working with contractors, but working with Mike was a joy. Did a wonderful job of the 2 rooms where we switched from carpet to tile. Also installed a glass tile kitchen black-splash. He did a beautiful job and reasonably priced! He's a busy guy and his schedule fills up fast, but worth the wait. You won't regret it!

Mike was awesome. From the time I contacted him on the phone he was very courteous and polite. He was on time every time I met him. His work was spotless. He's a perfectionist and it shows on his work. We are very please on how the tile and grout work came out. He also left the place clean after he was done with work. Mike did an excellent job. He provided us with an overall plan at the start of the project and each morning he went over the work that would be done that day so that we could plan accordingly. He took every effort to inconvenience us as little as possible (which is hard to do when you are tiling an entire house). His workmanship is outstanding. Our floors are more level than they were with our old tile. We would definitely hire him again for any future tile work that we might need.

Everything went very well. He is very meticulous and the project turned out great.
