"I pulled an old stove top out to install a new oven/stovetop and realized the granite needed to be cut back while in place. Just responded quickly and luckily he was able to work on my project the next day. The work was amazing, and almost no dust in the house from the work performed. His cut and polish looked way better than the original. Highly highly recommend him."

"Yeah, Justin was a nice guy. He drilled a hole in quartz countertop for an RO system. He was in and out pretty quick. He cleaned up the dust, which was minimal. I would recommend this company"

"We had a large crack in our granite countertop by the sink and Arizona Granite is the ONLY company I could find willing to do this repair in the Prescott area. The Tech, Justin was very good at blending In the color & polishing the top to match the shine. In fact the area he was working on has more of a shine than the rest of the countertops. Thinking about having him renew all my countertops.. The repair is practically invisible and is very smooth. Justin is very thorough and did an absolutely beautiful job! We feel lucky to have found him and are so happy with his work."

"We got bids from two providers.  Unique was at least $1,000 less.  We picked out the slabs and Unique picked them up and took it from there.  The quality control process impressed us.  We couldn't be happier with our purchase"

"This was our second stone countertop installation. The first was in another locale, this one in Prescott. The installation by Greenlee was so superior to the other in fit and finish that we are looking forward to having them do some work in the master bath. AAA+"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of painted countertops depends on the products used and how well they are maintained. Generally, they can last for a couple of years before needing a fresh coat. To maximize their longevity, it is vital to apply a durable sealer, such as a resin or water-based acrylic topcoat, over the paint. After applying the sealer, allow it to cure for the full recommended time, which can range from seven to ten days, to ensure a fully protected surface.

Yes, you can use paint if you want to refresh your tile countertops. However, you must be mindful of the type of paint you use. Look for options explicitly created for tile that are also waterproof and durable. Over time, the paint will chip, so this is not considered a long-term solution for busy kitchens.

Porcelain is a relatively affordable, mid-range countertop material. It typically costs between $50 to $70 per square foot.

Compared to quartz, porcelain is slightly more affordable, as quartz generally ranges from $50 to $200 per square foot. However, lower-quality, builder's grade quartz can be similar in price to porcelain.

Compared to granite, the price can be similar, depending on the quality of the stone. While granite slabs can range from $50 to $200 per square foot, you can find lower-end granite in the same price range as porcelain. High-end granites will cost significantly more.

Porcelain is generally more expensive than laminate, acrylic, and ceramic, but less expensive than high-end slate, concrete, and marble. A key benefit is that porcelain does not require sealing, which reduces long-term maintenance costs.

Extensive chips and cracks may require a full replacement of the countertop. The cost to install a new countertop is around $3,100 on average. But, if the damaged area is relatively small, you may want to consider repairing it yourself or calling in a qualified professional. Depending on the material, some epoxy and sandpaper may do the trick. Or you can consider painting laminate countertops or refinishing butcher block countertops.

Yes, you can remove a countertop without breaking it. It is possible to save your countertop to use in your new kitchen, donate it, or sell it! You’ll just need to work carefully as you follow the removal steps above. If you’re not sure you can get the job done without causing a little damage, call in a pro for peace of mind.
