"Thermal Advantage did a great job insulating the masonry walls on my home. His crew was on time, answered all my questions, and now the difference in room temperature is noticeable. Well worth the reasonable price as I am seeing savings on my utility bill."

"I called to set up a free consultation and was promptly met at the agreed upon time. We discussed my desires and how to achieve my project goals. I was given a quote and agreed upon the price for the garage work to be done the following week when I was free. The spray foam and "drill and fill" have been awesome! I have a 24K BTU AC unit in the garage that was unable to keep the temps low as there was so much heat in the garage all day. After the insulation was done it can hold the temps at 70F in the garage while barely turning on during the day. The attic above the garage tops out at 85F when it was over 110F outside, just amazing. We had them do a home energy audit and found that there were plenty of leaky areas in the attic and the insulation was 15 years old and about an R-10 level. It needed some serious work so we agreed to have it topped off with new fiberglass insulation. The guys came out and did and amazing job bringing me up to R-39 as well as keeping the house very clean while doing it. On both days they cleaned up after themselves and took great care of my house. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone that could use more insulation!"

"The installers showed up on time, were very courteous, completed the job within a few hours, cleaned up and were gone. They did an very good job of installing the insulation and now I can't wait to see my bills go down. The cost of the project was a little more than I wanted to spend but I see it was worth it. It was something I couldn't do myself. I would recommend."

"What I was hoping to do didn't make sense so I'm pursuing a do it your self option. I spoke to Jeff Banker personally and he was very helpful, told me my idea didn't make sense since spray on insulation generally looks kind of messy and only makes sense for locations that aren't normally seen. He offered me other ideas and one was simple and easy enough that I'll just do it myself. I will keep him in mind though if/when I decide to spray foam elsewhere in my house. Thanks!"

"Brad told me what to expect before he installed radiant barrier on the south and west walls of our shop, he also installed radiant barrier and foam insulation to the roof on our south building. The results dramatically exceeded my expectations. Prior to the radiant barrier we started work at 5am and stopped between noon to 1pm because of heat, after the upgrades one cooler was able to keep the shop at 72 degrees well into July. We increased our productivity, increased the number of hours worked, and did so in comfort. The transformation has been impressive, our building has gone from the least comfortable work environment I have worked in over the past couple decades, into the most comfortable with the radiant barrier and insulation installed."

"He did a good job but had a bad attitude, I don't know if he was just having a bad day or is always that way. But he definitely wasn't very happy about something . I had used them before and even asked for the previous guy because he was so friendly and helpful, but he was no longer with the company."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

There shouldn’t be any gaps between your walls and ceiling. These can be fixed with joint compound but that is only a fix, and it’s much better if your drywall fits correctly in the first place. Sometimes gaps can appear if your foundation shifts significantly but if this is the case, you have a much bigger problem than patching drywall.

Plaster walls typically last between 30 and 70 years, but depending on the quality of the materials and the moisture levels in the building, they can last for over 100 years. With expert application and consistent maintenance, plaster can even last for centuries. To extend its lifespan, it is important to have the plaster professionally installed, address any water damage promptly, and repair small cracks as they appear. Regular inspections by a professional can help identify and address concerning cracks before they become significant issues.

Damp plaster does dry out, although the drying time depends on several factors, including the type of plaster, the surrounding temperature, moisture content, and the extent of the dampness. Sometimes, it can take weeks or months for wall plaster to dry naturally.

You may need to replace drywall because of smoke damage. If the drywall is covered in soot, you may be able to clean it, but it will require a lot of time and effort. You could spend hours cleaning the drywall only to find there is more damage and it needs to be replaced anyway. It’s usually easier and safer to remove the smoke-damaged drywall and replace it.

You can put drywall mud over paint to even out the surface or entirely resurface it. Sand the surface with 280-grit sandpaper, vacuum the debris and dust with a shop vac, and clean it with a slightly damp cloth. Allow the surface to dry. Apply drywall primer, especially if you’re skim-coating an entire wall. Apply the right type of drywall mud over the surface and smooth it with a trowel. Allow the layer to cure fully, then sand it before applying another layer or painting it.
