"The whole job was done quickly and at a very fair price after calling a number of companies. (plus there was a 5% veteran discount which not everyone offered ) The crew who did the work were considerate and left everything as clean as it was before they started overall I would recommend them to anyone who needed this service"

"They did a fantastic job of mounting a heavy duty hose reel to studs behind the stucco and filling holes left from a previous install. The hose reel is now installed in my desired area and they did it for a reasonable rate. Thanks so much!"

"They were very professional, friendly, and responded to my questions. They were the only contractor to provide a fully written quote (vs. just text messages of price) of the services to be provided, price, and payment schedule, which I appreciated and one of the reasons I chose them. The work was well done. I would recommend them to others."

"The owner, Joe called me and gave me a quote over the phone. YES! The quote was based on my square footage and my desire to stick with the least expensive solution. The new blown-in product won't need more added as it did with the original product blown-in by a different company 10 years ago. That inferior product had a settling rate of over half! The workers were on time, made short work of the installation, let me climb the ladder to see the before, sent me photos of the after, and stuck with the original quote. Lastly, they were here within a week of my initial call and were on time. Great company and saved me more than $800 on the next lowest estimate. Highly recommend."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

To find and hire a reputable contractor for an egress window installation, you should first research local professionals and then vet your top candidates. Start by searching for local contractors who specialize in this type of work, read their customer reviews, and examine their website and portfolio. Once you have a shortlist, contact them to ask key questions: Are you licensed and insured? What is your specific experience installing egress windows? Can you provide references from previous customers? Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors? What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule? How do you handle payment?

The primary benefits of an egress window include providing a safe emergency exit, increasing natural light in a space like a basement, and improving ventilation. Additionally, installing an egress window can often increase your property's value.

Most professionals can install a window well in two to three days, depending on the size of the well and the window you want inside it. If you’re just replacing an existing window well, the work is much less intensive, and most experts can get the job done in just one day. Connecting the window well to a drainage system or installing a custom concrete window well will naturally take longer, but even the most complicated installations shouldn’t take more than three days.

There are a range of egress window types available, including:

  • Single-hung: $100–$400

  • Double-hung: $250–$500

  • Horizontal/sliding: $150–$800

  • Casement: $200–$500

  • In-swing: $350–$700

When choosing a type of egress window, consider how you’d like to open it. For example, double-hung egress windows open from top to bottom and let plenty of fresh air in, whereas sliding windows slide open for easy access.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.
