    Dunlap construction consulted on my home Remodeling project. Brent Dunlap lined up all the trades and gave me estimate of massive Remodeling job and stayed on budget through out. Brent scheduled all trades and made sure all things were done correctly the first time. No short cuts taken and Brent only brings in knowledgable sub-contractors most of which he has worked with for many years. Instead of pricing the customary 20% profit and overhead, Brent is truly a consultant. He does everything a contractor does, and he makes sure the job is done correctly and when that job is done he will present the bill for that particular completed job after he has inspected it and both you and he are satisfied. The home owner then pays the sub contractor. In doing the job in this fashion as a consultant Brent Dunlap Construction is able to charge less than the normal 20% Pand O. My family is very happy with the project we worked on with Brent Dunlap Construction and highly recommend him

    I built a quote on line first and submitted it. I was promptly contacted by Alan Shepard from Tuff Shed. We emailed for several days the particulars. I was wanting a concrete pad put down first and Mr. Shepard made a couple of suggestions for contractors he has worked with. I called one of them and they worked out perfectly. The Tuff Shed crew came out 3 days later and started constructing the building. They got the floor, walls, rafters and doors in. They came back the next day and finished the roof, shingles, painted the trim and walls. They also built the loft the second day. They were extremely professional and always busy. I rarely ever saw them take a break. I would recommend them to anyone

    Our front concrete stairs were uneven and had no handrail. I wanted to replace them and Brent gave me a reasonable bid for the job. Brent did not do the actual work. He provided me with a bid and told me that he would use subcontractors for the job. He hired two contractors to do the actual work and then supervised the job and paid the subcontractors. We had a cement contractor and a railing contractor for the job. The cement contractor broke up the original porch, and then formed up the stairs, the landing and the porch. The new stairs are wider than the original stairs and the landing is also wider and visually a big improvement. The railing contractor powder coated the railings, painted and installed them. The finished stairs are a great improvement and so much safer than the original stairs and porch. The steps are wider and are evenly spaced, the landing is wider and the railings are wonderful. We did not install railing around landing and the porch and we now realize that it looks unfinished. So we asked Brent for a bid to add railings to those areas which he provided to us. Brent is a very nice fellow and the subcontractors he located to do the job were very capable and they did a great job. They were all very professional. I was very pleased with the final result

    This is a family business and the owners take pride in what they do. They were wonderful to deal with--quick to respond to emails and voice mails, answered lots of questions, and were willing to go the extra mile to make sure the shelter would be accessible to a wheelchair-dependent person in my family. They communicated about the anticipated delivery date, confirmed the date, and actually arrived early--after making sure it was okay to come early. They installed the shelter in a few hours, cleaned up the garage and made sure I could work the locking mechanism comfortably. The wheelchair ramps turned out to be too heavy so they ordered aluminum ramps to be delivered about a week later. They followed up with a phone call and email to make sure that the ramps had arrived as scheduled and worked as intended. I have never dealt with a business as caring and professionally competent as they were

    Brent is so thorough and kept me updated the entire length of the project. He sent almost daily texts with updates. He was easy to get a hold of and always on time. He did a fantastic job managing the project. When we hit a project hick up, those always happen, Brent found a solution. He wasn't the lowest bid but worth every cent.     If Brent did his own work, it would probably be fine. Unfortunately, he subcontracts everything to the cheapest contractors and they don't even listen to his or the home owner's instructions. Brent then threatens legal action if you don't pay within 2 days of finishing even when the work is not complete. He also stated that he would have never taken the job if he knew that the addition needed to match the existing house. Wow! He also left the outside of the dormer unfinished for over 2 weeks even during a hurricane! I had to take flashing tape and seal everything myself before it hit. The window is 5 inches lower than the outside window beside it. The window sill is unlevel, bent, and 1 inch lower than the other sill in the room. The roof is the wrong color and the pitch is noticeably different from the gable peak right next to it. The fascia is 3 inches wider than any other fascia on the house. They never installed R30 insulation in the ceiling as specified on the quote. The window leak and roof leak that they told me they fixed still leak. The baseboards are not mitered to match. They did not bring enough screws for the roof so they dug through my trash and used rusted screws with broken seals instead. On top of this, if I would not have complained, they would have installed the wrong brand, color, and texture of siding after I even gave them the part numbers to order. They installed grey fascia that had to be replaced with white so that it matched the house. They tore up my carpet even though they had no tools to reinstall it. They barely even tried to find a matching window which I ended up ordering myself. The lights and outlets were not originally symmetrical and the roof cap was not cut to match the existing trim. Overall, if you are good with this level of quality, Brent is your man. He is definitely cheap but you get what you pay for!!! I will never use his crews again! I am absolutely shocked that he has had so many favorable reviews on Angie's List. He is a nice guy but his crews are not professional at all

    The true professionalism of a company is their willingness to stand behind their work. Seven years ago, I contracted with KSI for an enclosed screened porch. New to any type of construction I trusted KSI. The installation wasn't fast. I was assigned one worker but I liked him . KSI contracted with another company to install the vinyl siding since they were acting as general contractor. Fast forward seven years. I just discovered that the wood is rotten beneath the vinyl. I had Wilson Siding evaluate the damage. I was told that there were three problems. One, (1) no foam insulation or (2) flashing were used to protect the wood. (3) I have expolsed seams that allowed water to leak into the wood. When I contacted KSI today, (talked with Randy) he didn't seem too interested in coming out. I was told that the individual that was hired to installed the vinyl was no longer living. I persisted and sent KSI pictures of rotten wood, and seamed areas. Randy came out. And he advised me that area was exposed to elements and needed maintenance. That heat causes vinyl to expand. When I pointed out the flaw in design, I was advised that I should have caulked the areas. Who designes a vinyl addition that needs caulking? I have owned my home for 20 years. My front porch is exposed, It has vinyl and I have never had to caulk it. And if you design something that will need maintenance like caulking shouldn't you tell homeowner? So, I spent $20,000 for a covered screen porch, and now seven years later need $7,000 in repairs

    The work went well. Don responded quickly to our call, got some workers out to crawl into our very tight crawlspace, and gave us an estimate within a couple of days. Once I called to accept the estimate, he scheduled the work for a couple of days later. We're very happy that the floor in our hallway is no longer collapsing! The floor boards buckled a little from the jacking up, and when asked, Don used some finishing nails to keep them down. The floor is still slightly uneven, but I think that may be an inevitable result of the jacking up and is much preferable to falling through the floor
