"Jim Anderson was a true professional. He called back right away and gave us a detailed estimate. On the day of our closing, he was there to begin the work. He met with us after the closing (the first time we'd met...I liked him immediately) and told us what he had already done and what there was left to do. He came back the next day or so and finished. He also took down a rickety looking unpainted wooden handrail leading the couple of steps up to the front door. We had mentioned we would take it down, but he did it for us. We are completely happy with Jim and his company and will definitely call for his services again! =)"

Remodel Design questions, answered by experts

When planning a general remodeling project, it's important to define the scope of work, understand your goals, and set a clear, detailed budget. You should also assess the current structure and consult with professionals like architects or contractors. Create a realistic timeline for each phase, obtain any necessary permits, and build in contingency plans for potential delays or unforeseen issues. Regular communication with all involved parties is crucial to streamline the process.

The process involves initial consultation, concept development, detailed planning, regulatory approvals, and integration of contractor work for project execution.

Yes, integrating sustainable practices and energy efficiency into plans is common.

While concrete walls do not need to "breathe" in the traditional sense of the word, they do require waterproofing and dehumidifying methods, particularly in basements below the water table. Concrete both contains moisture from its initial installation and can absorb water when exposed. Ensuring proper basement ventilation , installing a vapor barrier, and controlling water exposure are all important tasks.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.
