"JUSTIN rocks!  Good Job!  Worked with our schedule and got the job done.  The roof looks amazing.  We moved into a 1971-built home and the roof was in bad shape. Of the four Contractors from whom we got bids, Justin and Weather Proofing Experts was the only one who was willing to go the extra mile by pointing out the problem with the roof/drainage at the back door.  It was pretty obvious once he pointed it out, but none of the other Companies said anything about it.  That says QUALITY to me. Pride in their work and experience coupled with knowledge.  The job went off without a hitch. The gutters were installed by a different crew and they did a good job too. I've already recommended Weather Proofing Experts to a couple of friends who will have a need for their services and will most definitely call on them again!  There's a lot to be said for being able to trust a Company when the Dollar Amount is large.  Thanks to Justin B. and to the crew.

"We needed a 2nd story deck with stairs to the ground torn down and rebuilt. We chose Dan Findley over some other bidders and we could not be more pleased. He followed through on all details and completed the project as promised with regards to time and cost. The best part is the finished deck is actually better than we had hoped for. His crew is very talented and professional. This was a project I dreaded starting, but it turned out to be painless."

"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List !  She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly  hence saving me the time.  She also has excellent local contacts.  Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete.  I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

"It's been a great experience, and I've really enjoyed working with Lance and his wife Marla.  He is always responsive and has been very diligent about returning to adjust some sprinkler heads.  Furthermore, he is very honest, doesn't try to upsell, and does quality work for fair price."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

When building a house, it is customary to use 16d nails that measure 3 1/2 inches in length to construct the frame. These nails are crucial in providing the necessary support and stability for structural elements like joists and studs, which ensures a sturdy framework.

Most of the time, you’ll want to use screws on your subfloor rather than nails. Nails can actually weaken plywood, whereas screws can easily penetrate without damage. They also form a more secure connection because of their shape, preventing squeaky floors and tightly holding the subfloor in place. That said, some contractors do prefer nails depending on the type of floor covering because they allow for more flexibility.

Duration varies by project size, but average-sized homes typically take a weeks.

While it is possible to build a wooden carport yourself, especially if you are skilled in carpentry, professional construction is recommended. Professionals ensure structural integrity, proper anchoring, correct alignment, and the use of quality materials for a stable and durable result.

For a professional carpenter, installing a window seat can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days, depending on some aspects of the project. Aside from building the seat itself, if they have to remove any cabinets, shelves, or baseboards, that will add time to the project.
