"Mike and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They were very professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure the process went smooth as possible and that our covered patio turned out exactly how we wanted it. They were very knowledgeable and paid close attention to detail to ensure everything was perfect and to our liking. We are planning to remodel more of our house in the future. We will be using Cahaba Building Group again because of how much we enjoyed working with them and how great of a job they performed. We highly recommend them to anyone who is wanting to remodel their home!"

"Phillip is professional and very knowledgeable on what specific waterproofing is required while not trying to pressure you into a more expensive project. He does a great job educating on how the water is coming into your crawlspace (or at least in my case it was a crawl space job), and he provides a set of solutions to help remedy the situation on a tier basis. Both he and the crew provide helpful videos pre-, during, and post-installation. Recently (as the project was completed months ago), my sump pump began making strange noises that you could feel through the floorboards, and I sent a message to Phillip that evening in an attempt to determine if this was a serious issue. He was quick to respond and informed me a crew would be out to take a look the house the next day (this was on a Saturday). At the end of the weekend I wrote him back to check on the prognosis, and I learned they had already replaced the pump as it was under warranty. Not just a sell and never see again businessman...I can appreciate that."

"Dining set assembled, curtains hung in 3 rooms, sawed off stool legs to fit under kitchen island. Hauled the large boxes into garage and cleaned up after himself. Perfect. Worked quickly and efficiently."

"Mr. Webb came out to do my estimate quickly after my initial request. I had some odd jobs around my house that I have been meaning to take care of. He charged me a flat, per day amount that I thought was very reasonable. I ordered the columns that needed to be replaced in front of my house and he told me that his crew would pick everything up from the store on the way over to do the work.
It was the easiest process I have ever experienced with a service provider. He told me when they would be out, which was about 2 weeks from my initial contact ? very quick, in my opinion.  I also didn't even need to be home since everything was outside that needed to be repaired.  When I got home from work everything was complete and looked so good.  I was also provided all of the receipts for anything they had to go out and buy to finish the job, which I really appreciated.  The only not positive thing for me is that I wish I would have had an idea of how long each job would take.  When I got home early that day to check the progress, they were already finished.  There were a couple other minimal things I could have had them do (replace two lighting fixtures outside) if I would have known the time for completion on the other jobs would not take a full day, since I was paying a per-day rate.  However, as I?ve said, the rate was very reasonable, so I wasn?t too worried about it.
Overall, it was a very positive experience.  I already know that I will use them again for a later project and have recommended them to others.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Yes, modular homes offer a wide range of customization options for layout, finishes, and features.

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

Yes, you can finance cottage construction through several options. Construction loans provide funds in stages as work progresses, while home equity loans or lines of credit are available if you have existing property. Some lenders offer a combined construction and permanent mortgage. Always review loan terms and payment milestones before committing.

It can take anywhere from a few days to several months to draw up architectural plans, depending on the complexity of your project. Architectural plans are highly detailed documents that take time to complete, and any changes or alterations can significantly extend how long they take.

Make sure you’re getting the right size to meet your space needs, including enough space both side to side and vertically to accommodate your RV’s features and allow you to safely move it in and out of the garage.

If you’re building an attached and enclosed garage for your RV, you’ll also want to give some thought to whether you’d like to add workspace, water or electricity, or additional storage. If so, you’ll need a garage with larger dimensions.
