"Distance shouldn't be a barrier when you want the best for yourself. Being a good business analyst, I was able to search for companies that will be perfect in repairing some of my foggy windows and doors. After comparing and analyzing window repair companies online, I decided to employ Argo Glass to handle my windows repairing project for me. After I have decided to use their services, I held a video call with them in order for them to throw more light to the issue on ground and also get a professional advice from them. During the chat I had with them, I laid out my requirements and stipulated a specific timeline and budget I have prepared for it. After I had received their advice and negotiations, I became more convinced that they’re the best people for the work. They finished the project at the stipulated time; their input coupled with the finished job, they made it easier for me to believe that this is the beginning of a strong, long-term collaboration between I and them."

"Mr. Ferrell first connected his computer to my computer via internet and worked for quite a few hours trying to determine what exactly was wrong. The next day he continued working from his computer for several hours. He determined he would have to have my desktop tower to complete the repair. He and my son met in Huntsville to exchange the tower. He then cleaned up a lot of what was wrong and reloaded Windows 10. He deleted the D: drive which had way too much memory allotted to it. The tower was returned and I plugged it all back together and it is working better than it did when I first purchased it. I would use him again and I recommend him highly to anyone needing computer updating and/or repair. His work is warrantied and he is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful."

"We have windows that we bought from Thermal-Gard years ago.  A few years after we bought them, the company no longer offered their services in Wisconsin.  So, when we had a problem with one of the windows, they told us they would send the parts but we have to find someone to repair the window.  My bathroom window would not open from the bottom at all.   I had difficulty finding someone who would do the work.  Found Superior thru Angies List.  Scott and Ryan replaced the springs but since Thermal-Gard didn't send  the correct springs, the window didn't stay up.  So, after recieving the correct springs, Ryan returned and replaced them.  No extra charge either.  How nice!  Very happy with the company.

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

The screen material you choose depends on your needs. Here are some differences to consider:

  • Fiberglass is the least expensive but needs replacing more often.

  • Aluminum suits almost any job and doesn’t stretch as easily as fiberglass.

  • Pet-resistant screens are more expensive than fiberglass or aluminum, but they’re also wind and weather-resistant.

  • Metal screens, like stainless steel, are the most expensive material for rescreening your porch or sunroom. However, they last for years and are golf ball-resistant.

Window screens are available in several standard sizes. Common dimensions include 24 to 36 inches wide by 36 to 48 inches tall, as well as sizes like 18 by 14 inches and 20 by 20 inches. These often correspond to standard window sizes, such as 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall or 4 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Screens are also sold in replacement rolls to accommodate various dimensions. It is always best to measure your windows for accuracy before a repair or replacement. If your windows are a non-standard size, you will likely need to order custom screens, which can increase the cost. However, a screen does not necessarily have to fit the entire window, so you may be able to use a standard-size screen even if your window is slightly larger.

Garage door screens can expand your living space, turning a garage into a home office, gym, or entertainment space. They provide comfortable ventilation, insect control, and privacy, allowing you to enjoy your space all year round. Consult a local garage door screen installer to add this feature to your space.

If you’re not an experienced DIYer, consider hiring a local patio repair contractor to rescreen your porch or sunroom. Unless you’re only repairing a small rip or hole, this project is not an easy job. A professional can also make recommendations for materials that will work best for your porch.

Yes, you can fix windows without replacing them. However, this will depend on the severity of the issue and what your needs are. Minor water damage, broken glass, damaged casing, and worn caulking are usually easy repairs. But if there is excessive damage, the windows are constantly foggy, or the windows are very old, it’s best to consider replacing them. Replacement windows cost between $575 and $1,475 per window, or an average of $850 per window.
