"I could not be happier with my experience with Milwaukee Windows. From my initial email to Ihsan (owner) asking for a quote, to the final window being installed, my project was completed in a timely and professional manner, all at a great price. I had several questions along the way pertaining to my window installation and Ihsan was always quick to get back to me and spent the time I needed answering all of my questions. He is a very genuine person and I always felt that my project mattered to him, regardless of how many other projects he had going on. His crew made quick work of the 17 windows installed in our house, and their cleanup was impeccable. I've already referred Milwaukee Windows to several friends and family members based on my wonderful experience. I can't say enough positive things about my experience. Buying windows doesn't need to be a hassle or a rip-off, and Milwaukee Widows proves that there are still great businesses out there that genuinely care about the job they do and the customers they serve."

"We purchased Wasco Windows for our entire house many years ago. We recently had warranty repair on 2 windows. Steve was on time for the appointment and ready to work. He fixed both spring issues right away. He commented that the windows still look great...which I agree with."

"We had 6 large windows replaced. Throughout the project, the communication was perfect. We had Brian and Luis install the windows. They were fantastic. They were very personable, communicated on any issues they saw during the install, and completed the entire project in one day. They were thorough and the windows look perfect. You can tell they take pride in their work. If you want windows installed without any issues, Weather Tight is easily the best choice."

"We had two windows replaced and they look great. We had old, outdated, drafty windows, and now we have beautiful, secure, functional and high quality windows that have kept in the warmth this winter! The windows that we ended up getting have features that we didn't have before and we love it all - the ability to move the screen up and down, easy tilting options to make cleaning the windows so easy, locking mechanisms, etc. The ordering process was easy, and staff were friendly."

"We replaced the windows in our 1933 home through the services of MadCity Windows. From the initial contact with their sales representative to final installation, the company provided top notch professional work. With the draft from the old windows and the cold of the glass, we are already saving on our energy bills. Our house had old, large windows, so they had to be custom made. As an industrial designer and interior designer, we find our windows to be of excellent quality."

Customers say: Terrific value

"I have an older house with some "troublesome" windows. The gentleman did a thorough job of cleaning them. He also was very patient with some of the problem windows. I was very pleased with the care he took in putting screens and storms back in the window frame. I would recommend him highly."

"Met with Alec about 3 windows. He was so enthused and confident about the windows his company sells, we agreed to go with them. Price was good, time out for delivery seemed good. Alec was very easy to work with, explained everything we needed to know. Thanks and can't wait for the windows."

"They were wonderful. Love the Windows. Professional. Polite. Efficient. First thing I noticed was no frost on the Windows. None! Not inside or out. First time in my life having windows that don't frost up every night!"

Windows questions, answered by experts

Generally speaking, you should clean your windows and any associated fixtures and treatments every six months. Otherwise, clean them as needed to keep everything running smoothly. If you live in a part of the country with especially hard water, you may have to clean them three or four times per year, and the same goes for areas where insects, pollen, dirt, and other debris can soil your windows and potentially cause issues with the moving parts.

Yes, it is generally better and more cost-effective to replace all your windows at once. Contractors often lower the per-window labor and material costs for larger projects, saving you money in the long run. Installers may also quote a flat rate for overhead, making multiple small jobs more expensive than one large one.

Replacing all windows simultaneously offers other advantages:

  • Aesthetics and Home Value: It creates a cohesive style and uniform energy efficiency, which is appealing to potential home buyers.

  • Efficiency: The entire replacement process, which can take several weeks, is completed in a single, more efficient project.

However, replacing all windows requires a significant upfront investment. While you can replace just a few windows, experts recommend replacing at least five to eight at a time to avoid high overhead costs. An exception is when a single window is damaged; in that case, it can be replaced on its own.

Upgrade to double-glazed glass or apply energy-efficient coatings to reduce heat loss and utility costs.

Making a window in a basement larger costs an average of $4,200. You’ll need to pay an average of $550 to have a structural engineer plan the project, $500 to $1,500 for the installation labor, and an average of $2,200 for the excavation and window well installation. The remainder will go toward pulling permits, installing trim, and repairing drywall on the interior.

A common way to modernize arched windows is to install interior window treatments that allow light through the curved portion up to and let you cover the bottom portion for privacy. You can also install plantation shutters to make an arched window look more modern. From the exterior, arched windows can appear outdated if they’re coupled with ornate trim, so toning down the decor can make your window look more natural with a modern design.
