"I recently had the pleasure of working with Kyle and his insulation business, and I couldn't be happier with the results! From the initial consultation to the final installation, the entire process wasseamless and professional. Kyle was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the different insulation options available. He helped me understand which materials would be the best fit for my house considering both energy efficiency and budget. His attention to detail and commitment to quality really stood out. The installation team was punctual, courteous, and worked diligently to ensure everything was done correctly. They left my home clean and tidy after completing the job, which I greatly appreciated!"

"My siding is unique. It is masonite, tempered hardboard. I have never seen it before and neither has anyone else younger. It was installed in 1956 when I was born. Was great for 60 yrs. Now the original coating is gone so it ought to go. It is brittle and hard. the holes and plugs are ugly. Not their fault. There is some off-gassing in open areas where it came into unsealed areas. A bit chemical. Again, not their fault. As for value, I cannot answer at this time. It is Oct. 8. I will be able to reply more accurately in March 2023. For the most I am pleased. Why did we build houses in the upper Midwest for 100+ yrs with NO insulation Coal and OIl were cheap?"

"I had a new roof installed on my house and garage in March 2020 Mark gave me an informative comparable quote (I had 4) and he was the only one who found a problem in the attic. Jeff and his crew were hard working, thorough and answered any questions I had. There were 2 layers of roof so it was a messy removal but my yard was left spotless each day. There were a couple of unforeseen problems but they were remedied without any extra cost. Everyone was professional and friendly. I highly recommend Bulldog Builders, LLC!"

"We interviewed 7 insulation installers for our major 2-story addition project. Fiberglass would cost considerably less but we opted for the Corbond sprayed-in foam insulation. We have not regretted it. Jim Maas exceeded our expectations relative to professionalism, answering questions, efficiency. The Corbond product is watertight, adheres the construction thereby strengthening the structure, provides superior noise reduction and will pay for itself in energy savings. Jim was thorough, did an outstanding job, and, when we added an area near the completion of the job, he threw it in with his compliments as a "house-warming present". He also does fiberglass and blown insulation. He will be blowing in the attic space of our addition, which is included in the above price. We are so pleased with the product, Jim and his company, that we are hiring him to do our 3.5 garage later this year. We are adding Jim's company to "Angie's List" because we feel it is a worthwhile addition."

"I talked with Shawn who was very nice and knowledgeable. He was very accommodating to my schedule. He made suggestions as to the kind of shingles to get, but did not push a certain "type". The workers showed up on time and got right to work. No one stood around with nothing to do. They laid tarps all around the house to protect plants, etc. They had a truck in the driveway to put all the old shingles in. Only took 8 hours. Great clean up and the went around the house with a metal rake for nails. Great experience. I would recommend."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Most professionals can install a window well in two to three days, depending on the size of the well and the window you want inside it. If you’re just replacing an existing window well, the work is much less intensive, and most experts can get the job done in just one day. Connecting the window well to a drainage system or installing a custom concrete window well will naturally take longer, but even the most complicated installations shouldn’t take more than three days.

Yes, you absolutely need a permit to add a window to your house. Your contractor can likely obtain this permit on your behalf. Ask about this when getting quotes from multiple window contractors.

There are a range of egress window types available, including:

  • Single-hung: $100–$400

  • Double-hung: $250–$500

  • Horizontal/sliding: $150–$800

  • Casement: $200–$500

  • In-swing: $350–$700

When choosing a type of egress window, consider how you’d like to open it. For example, double-hung egress windows open from top to bottom and let plenty of fresh air in, whereas sliding windows slide open for easy access.

Expect excavation below grade, creating a well for access, weatherproofing, and thorough inspections during setup.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.
