"I've used Thermal Comfort a few times in the past to insulate entire homes, but this time I had a small job. Although this was a small job, they didn't treat it as one. From the start, I called Dason and he came to my property right away to look at the scope of work. I told him I'd like to get the work done ASAP. Although they were busy he squeezed me in, I was on his schedule within a week. The two techs, Randy and Walt were professional and got the job done in a timely manner. I will continue to use Thermal Comfort for my spray foam needs."

"These guys came out right away, gave me a fair price and did the job great ! The toughest part was removing old insulation, getting it out of my house and cleaning it all up. They did all that and sealed up my basement tight ! Using their foam insulation they filled in all gaps. And they did it in one day ! We now notice our house stays a little warmer and no more mice ! Kyle and his crew were fantastic and I recommend them highly. -- Alan B - Sun Prairie"

"I had a new roof installed on my house and garage in March 2020 Mark gave me an informative comparable quote (I had 4) and he was the only one who found a problem in the attic. Jeff and his crew were hard working, thorough and answered any questions I had. There were 2 layers of roof so it was a messy removal but my yard was left spotless each day. There were a couple of unforeseen problems but they were remedied without any extra cost. Everyone was professional and friendly. I highly recommend Bulldog Builders, LLC!"

"We interviewed 7 insulation installers for our major 2-story addition project. Fiberglass would cost considerably less but we opted for the Corbond sprayed-in foam insulation. We have not regretted it. Jim Maas exceeded our expectations relative to professionalism, answering questions, efficiency. The Corbond product is watertight, adheres the construction thereby strengthening the structure, provides superior noise reduction and will pay for itself in energy savings. Jim was thorough, did an outstanding job, and, when we added an area near the completion of the job, he threw it in with his compliments as a "house-warming present". He also does fiberglass and blown insulation. He will be blowing in the attic space of our addition, which is included in the above price. We are so pleased with the product, Jim and his company, that we are hiring him to do our 3.5 garage later this year. We are adding Jim's company to "Angie's List" because we feel it is a worthwhile addition."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

Depending on size, material, and labor, two windows can cost between $600 and $1,600.

An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.
