"We had a few small odd-jobs to do around the house, concerning electrical work, and found Creekside here on Angie's List. Andy from Creekside was extremely responsive via text, in which I could send him pictures of the issues and he could get back to me with an estimate. He came to perform three jobs for us: - Take out an old living room chandelier from the 70's that had six separate cords going to six separate bulbs on a dimmer. Install new chandelier with a single cord and single bulb. - Fix/Replace a transformer for a doorbell ringer that has been buzzing for the last 6 years. Previous electricians said there wasn't anything we could do about it. - Install a timer switch for the bathroom heat lamp. I tried doing this myself, and while it worked, it was a consumer grade item from Ace Hardware that had its knob break on multiple occasions. In all three cases, Andy exceeded expectations. He did a great job of swapping out the lights, he replaced the transformer with a new one and it doesn't buzz anymore, and the timer switch is a nice button timer that counts down in 10-minute increments. On top of that, he came in under bid. Andy is FANTASTIC and his company will be our go-to electrician from here on out, no matter what the job."

"Worst experience ever! Jon Dodd caused hundreds of dollars of damage to our house and would never admit to do doing it. I have over 30 pics to document the damages when he worked here. When confronted, he would not tell the truth, ever! Knew he put a shelf in wrong but took a chance and did not mention it. (He did admit it later) The shelf fell and broke $300 in wedding dishes. He is NEVER on time. Denied putting the big scratches in our brand new $800 sink. His paint sprayer was bad and leaking, yet he still tried to use it and wasted over $150 in Kilz and got it all over the floor, tracked it upstairs and never cleaned it up. He broke an antique mirror and denied doing it when he was the only one in our house! A job that we were guaranteed would take 3 days ended up taking over 5 WEEKS because he would not show up even after saying he would be there in text, and denied it until I showed him his own text! Stood us up several times. He is an immature pathological liar that I am convinced does not have the ability to ever tell the truth or admit guilt. His last screw up was installing a cabinet door (FINALLY) and stripping out the screws in the bottom hinge. Then telling me it was installed and ran out and drive away before I found it out. I am filing charges against him for all the damages and to get all the overspray cleaned up on all my furniture that he never covered, including $150 for a new internet/TV modem that barely works now because of the overspray that is now inside it. Jon does not have even the simplest of skills, and causes more harm than good. He can not even chalk without smearing it all over! Do not ever trust him!!"

"WARNING - make sure you get a fully price estimate up front before they begin to do work. I brought them in to work on furnace/AC unit/split AC unit servicing garage (based on a promotional price for the first two). It was found my split unit needed a recharge for coolant and I was told that it'd only be 5 lbs of coolant and that this would be priced by the pound (which was reasonable). The bill came and they tacked on a flat charge of $219 for the coolant (this is in addition to the $129 charge to look over the split unit). I felt baited-and-switched. I also contacted them about this, and the answer came down to "This is additional profit for us added onto your bill." Not pleased. At all. Particularly since the coolant in question costs approximately $6 per pound and they only used 5 lbs (one would assume that the $129 charge built in enough profit for labor/licenses/equipment due to the limited time spent working on the split unit. Apparently not). Comfort By Design does excellent work, and they do stand by their work, but just be VERY CAREFUL in finding out what they're going to charge you, particularly if something extra comes up when they're doing a job."
