"Service was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. Not as professional as I would have liked though and was quoted double the price for wanted services compared to other local companies. Termites are most active and cause the most damage during the spring and summer, as warm temperatures and increased moisture accelerate their activity. This is also when swarming typically occurs, allowing colonies to expand. However, termites remain active year-round, especially in warmer climates or heated homes. Once a colony is established, it can continue to damage wood 365 days a year, even during cold weather.

Moles live underground and feed on insects. They dig and move through tunnels, usually in meadows or forests but sometimes in lawns and gardens. They are about 6 inches long with large claws, tiny eyes, and hidden ears. 

Shrews do not dig their own tunnels but will use other animals’ tunnels, and are about 3 to 4 inches long. They look similar to mice and feed on insects.

Voles are similar in size to moles but have large eyes and small but visible ears. Rather than eating insects, voles are herbivores that prefer seeds, grasses, and plant roots.

Hornets are attracted to bright colors that look like flowers, including purple, pink, white, green, and yellow. They are least attracted to dark colors, such as blue and black. 

While it may cost more to hire an exterminator than trying to treat the problem yourself, a professional is worth hiring if you have a major infestation. If the problem is severe and the ants are causing damage to your home, then DIY methods may not be as effective as a professional treatment. Plus, if you have carpenter or fire ants it’s best not to risk the damage they can cause to your home.
