After the cabinets went in, Aspen Hill came back to install all the water lines, connect the stove, put on the faucet etc. Understandably, a junior member of the Aspen Hill team came to do this work and there were a few things that were just a little off about it. I'm not sure we would have even called to have them come back and fix most these things (the faucet was turned a weird way, the caulking on the sink was a little sloppy), but Dave preemptively called the next day and asked if he could stop by to double check the work. When we got home all the little things were fixed. The stove, which initially didn't fit into it's home (oops, I mis-measured), was a double oven and required a specific location for the gas line that was on the other side from where they put it. Dave had someone come back to move that once we made room and we were all set. The only part that seemed a little disorganized was that two people apparently share the responsibility for scheduling. When we initially called/emailed one responded to each inquiry. When we were figuring out when/whether Brian needed to come back we got two different calls about it. In the end, I'd rather get two than none, so it's not a major complaint as far as I'm concerned. He needed to come back at several points as we got the kitchen to more and more functioning levels and was great about fitting us in and prioritizing my need for a dishwasher! My favorite part was during filming when the inspector came and wanted to be portrayed as a stickler on TV and said something like, "Did you ensure the outlets are up to code blah, blah blah" and Eric responded in layman's terms with something like, "yes, they're all grounded". He was on time, easy to work with, honest and straight-forward about the costs, and generally a great contractor. I will never hesitate to call him for any electrical needs we have. We had a very reasonable estimate and the services performed were done promptly, with respect to our home and with care to every detail. They had to remove lots of paint, dirt, and label adhesive from the new windows, and did it without complaining, even doing inside doors not on the estimate! Because the windows were new, special care had to be taken not to ruin the Low-E film. Everything sparkles and is incredibly clean. They couldn't have done a better job and the price was reasonable and worth the many, many hours we would have had to spend, with windows which wouldn't have looked half as good! I started my termite damage contract with Environmental Security in Aug '09. My roof was damaged by Hurricane Sally in Sep '20, and I had to wait till Dec '20 to get it replaced. After paying ~$200/yr for renewal inspections over 10 years, plus ~$500 for a warranty booster in 2016, they...
We were remodeling our kitchen and decided to do it on a DIY reality TV show. Brian, the plumber who did most of the work, was great - polite, easy to work with, timely and funny. He did an excellent job of working around the film crew yet just going about his business. I also appreciated...

"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

Hurricane Film questions, answered by experts
Yes, home insurance coverage includes hail damage. An HO-1 insurance policy offers the most basic coverage for homeowners. In every homeowners’ insurance policy, the insurer includes a list of perils (or dangers) that you’re covered from, and HO-1 policies almost always include protection against hail and windstorms as well as other perils like fire, lightning, and vandalism. All you need to do is file a homeowners insurance claim, and your insurer will send you a check for the amount covered.
If you’re installing hurricane ties, consider other storm-proofing projects. You could call a window pro to install storm windows, get in touch with a door installer to add storm doors, or just ask your hurricane tie installer what other projects they’d recommend you get done at the same time.
Use plywood that is at least a half-inch thick to protect your windows during hurricane season. You can opt for 5/8-inch or 3/4-inch plywood for greater protection if you’re concerned about blown debris or have trees right outside your windows. Thinner plywood is more affordable, but it won’t protect your windows as well.
Yes, hail damage to your roof can definitely cause water leaks in your roof. This is because hailstones can break, chip, crack, or split shingles of all types, exposing underlayment. This underlayment doesn’t offer as much protection against water, so when it becomes compromised, water can penetrate and leak deeper into your home.
Some hail storms can cause serious damage to your roof and shingles, but unless your roof is aging or already in poor condition, it’s unlikely to necessitate a full roof replacement. It is rare for an insurance company to approve a roof replacement after a hailstorm.
