"I hired them to install a fence to match my neighbors existing fence. The existing fence was installed by a company called Clover. The attention to detail and perfection exhibited by Nimmer Co out shines the other company by miles. They took great care not to destroy my grass by placing plywood down as they drive their equipment around. I wish I could post comparison photos but the dumb site only allows for 5mb worth of pictures. So here is one showing how straight the fence is. Look how perfectly in line that is."

"I would highly recommend Milwaukee Exteriors to anyone locally looking for wood fence installation. We had 50 feet of an existing 4-foot fence running along an alley removed and replaced, and an additional 120+ feet added. A total of 2 walkway gates and one driveway gate included. We did a lot of research and had quotes from 8 local companies. Milwaukee Exteriors was extremely competitive in pricing, especially considering the gates and removal of existing fence and dirt from the holes. Communication leading up to the install was lacking. It was difficult to get ahold of someone at the office who could confirm a change in install date and some information to get a permit. However, it was eventually resolved without issue. Install took 3 days total: 1 day of removal and post hole digging, 1 day of concrete pouring and post install, 1 day of fence install. Our install team was extremely good at their job: friendly, always asking for my opinion before taking the next step, helpful in making suggestions when asked, careful to mind existing plants and landscaping, meticulous in cleaning up after themselves, and the final product looks fantastic and well-constructed. They even managed to procure enough cedar product for my ordered fence style on short-notice after a miscommunication at the office. Didn't affect my project at all, though I'm sure it took some effort to resolve on their side. Overall a 5-star service and project result, even with some minor communication delays early in the process."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The best type of temporary fencing depends on its intended purpose. For example, if you need it for added security, to ensure the safety of children and animals, or to keep pests out of a garden, the ideal material will differ. For simply warning people away from a construction project, plastic orange fencing may be sufficient. Barricade fencing is a good choice for blocking off small areas. If you need to protect an area from trespassing, theft, or vandalism, more robust security fencing is necessary. Once you understand the primary function, you can select the most durable and cost-effective material for your specific project and yard size.

Yes, you can use a floor jack to remove fence posts. Attach a stem to the base of the fence post so you can position the floor jack underneath. The stem can be a scrap piece of wood attached with nails or a sturdy nail itself. Put the jack beneath the stem and push the lever to lift up on the fence post and remove it from the ground.

The lifespan of a fence can range from 5 to 50 years, depending heavily on the material, local climate, and how well it is maintained. For example, a wooden fence might last 7 to 15 years, while a vinyl fence typically lasts 20 to 30 years. Metal, composite, and glass fences have some of the longest lifespans. Proper maintenance, such as regular cleaning, inspections, and staining or sealing for wood, is key to extending the life of any fence material. Vinyl and composite are durable options that don't require sealing.

Many types of farm fencing can work well for your farm, but it depends on the type of animal you need to contain and the size of your property. If you want something quick and temporary, go with a metal T-post fence. If you need something that will last forever, go with a synthetic fence made of composite material or PVC. Electric and barbed wire fences are often chosen for docile livestock, like pigs and cows.

Installing a picket fence includes measuring and marking the area where you plan to build the fence, laying out all of the materials, digging post holes, setting the posts using concrete, measuring the rails, attaching the rails, attaching the pickets, and then painting or staining the fence if you chose a wooden fence material
