"I hired them to install a fence to match my neighbors existing fence. The existing fence was installed by a company called Clover. The attention to detail and perfection exhibited by Nimmer Co out shines the other company by miles. They took great care not to destroy my grass by placing plywood down as they drive their equipment around. I wish I could post comparison photos but the dumb site only allows for 5mb worth of pictures. So here is one showing how straight the fence is. Look how perfectly in line that is."
"Fantastic! They completed the entire job in one day, 25 bushes removed and 40’ of fencing installed. They did everything they said they would and more. Looking forward to working with A&J again!"
"It was a great experience. Nick is very respectful and courteous, listened to my requests, explained what he felt would or wouldn't work based on my yard. I love the plants that he chose, as he paid attention to not only the colors, but the hardiness, the amount of work needed to care for them, and the seasonal colors they would turn. He and his workers really function as a team...they have known each other a long time and work incredibly hard. I asked a lot of questions, and he/they took the time to explain everything to me patiently. Nick and his team came out several times to fix my fence, and to do the prep work for the installation. Although the work happened at a busy time of year, he and his team made time to get things done properly. The day of the installation went by very quickly, and everything was done in short order. They cleaned up and it looked beautiful after. What is really impressive is that Nick and his team seem to love the natural things they work with, and want it done properly. Nick even threw in some extra work along one part of my fence, simply because he felt it needed to be done aesthetically, and did not charge me for it. This was a difficult summer for new plants, and several of the ones he installed didn't do well. I called and he offered advice for caring for them, and when they died, he sent his team out to install new ones. He backs up the word that he gives. I would not hesitate on recommending this company to anyone. I actually plan to use them again next year to finish up other parts of my yard. His prices are very fair, and I felt the quality was good. I love my yard now. "
"seemed like an expensive estimate and suggestions to do more than may have been necessary. They could be correct in the long run but for now I'm trying which seems like a reasonable, more cost effective solution suggested by another contractor.
"They cooked our Thanksgiving dinner, helped arrange parties, and have done house sitting for us. That is how I originally found them on Angies List; I was looking for a house sitter while we went on vacation for three weeks. They have arranged exterior concreting for me. I talk to them and do not have to deal with the sub-contractor. They have done some light interior, carpentry, and plumbing. They arranged for the people to come in and install a light for me. I do not use them as a general contractor. I use them for when I need something done I call Loretta and she will call the sub-contractors and then call me back and tell me the price."
"Epic and the crew from custom care quickly devised a solution to make our yard and water access safe and beautiful. They did the work faster than expected and were careful to secure all permits and preserve the environment. Great guys."
You can use pressure-treated wood for a horizontal fence, but you’ll need to purchase a thicker and higher-quality variety to ensure it doesn’t sag or warp after you install it. Use #2 pine grade lumber and boards and thicker dimensional lumber, such as a two-by-six. You’ll also need to use stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized fasteners, as the chemicals in the treated lumber will cause regular galvanized fasteners to rust.
Privacy fences in residential neighborhoods tend to stand between 6 and 8 feet tall, but local building code usually dictates the maximum height. Livestock fences that border large land plots range from 3 to 6 feet. Shorter, decorative fences, which are common in front yards, are around 3 feet tall, on average. Fence height also tends to vary by material, with wood fences usually sitting at 6 feet tall, and chain-link and wrought iron fences tending to sit at half that.
You’ll need to bury the garden fence about 1 foot underground. It’s tempting to save on materials by burying the fence just a couple of inches, but if you do so, determined pests will still be able to dig under the fence and access your plants. Burying your garden fence deep into the soil is an important step that allows you to attach a wire barrier to the fencing.
Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.
A wobbly fence can be caused by a number of things, though poor installation is the usual culprit. It’s always best to have your fence installed by a professional who can ensure the posts are placed correctly and that the chain links have the correct amount of tension.
When deciding to replace or repair your existing fence, consider the 20% rule that fence builders reference. This rule states that if more than 20% of your fence needs repair, you should skip the repair and replace it. Additionally, if your fence is nearing the end of its life, it's often best to replace it.
Repairing the fence is a good option when you have minimal damage or damage from a specific event versus wear and tear. Your fence repair professional can assess the damage and compare the repair price with the cost of a new fence.
